You could buy 2 2080Ti's for the price of a Titan RTX and have way more performance.
The Titan is only slightly faster than the 2080ti, not worth double the price (for gaming.)
Also didn't you say you already had one in the Specs megathread?
https://www.gamersnexus.net/guides/3419-sli-nvlink-titan-rtx-benchmark-gaming-power-consumption
More VRAM doesn't equate to performance itself, all it means is that the card can handle more things at the same time, but 11GB as it stands is WAY overkill unless you're running at 4K resolution.
Titan RTX is a card best suited for creators, not gamers. If you aren't a content creator, don't buy it. There is zero sense for someone who is only gaming to buy something that performs the same as a single 2080 Ti but costs as much as two.
Also I heard SLI causes framelag and crashes/not optimized at all in games so best single card performance is optimal?
I am a content creator, but not a game developer or anything like that... The VRAM is a bonus because it does help in my workload for modeling, if there's /any/ performance gain over 2080 ti for single card performance then it's worth it to me to set it up for gaming.
But the 2080 Ti is still good for content creation, you don't actually need the Titan. RTX cards in general are much better for work than GTX.
What is the kind of content creator are you? AutoCAD? Photo editor? Video editor? Animation?
Just look up the reviews on Youtube and other places and decide for yourself
titan/quadro are better at other tasks than the gtx series, but not games
its always been like that for the titan/quadro cards
its more like buying a supercar and using it to plow a field
or a farm tractor and putting it on the racetrack
pick the more appropriate one for the job, dont go by price of the tool
No extra bells and whistles intop of it, just a different connector.
The problem is that they're basically the same, but there's no guarantee that the drivers will be good on the gaming side at all times, and you're paying as much as you would for 2 2080 Ti's for a single Titan RTX.
I really don't think it's worth it unless you can quickly make back the hefty cost of the Titan from what you plan on doing with it.
