My system32 files are probably screwed up, sorry [SOLVED, MAYBE]

I got a new pc, and after clean wiping the drives and starting from scrap, I finally got to the point of getting steam installed...

So I got steam installed, downloaded some games, and found out that for example, csgo can't launch... it seemed like a simple dll file error ( I think it was msvcp140), so I get that error fixed by adding that file ( I din't have that file before, had some other 140 file with more letters at end)...then...another one pops up, related to d3dx9_43 if i remember correct.. ( error was that windows had bad image and some tutorials pointed towards the d3dx_43 ....) I did replace that file if I remeber correctly, with oe I found from web

Long story short - I F$@& up I think...

Right now when launching Insurgency and CSGO they won't load up, no errors either, just starting to launch and the closes ( no black screen or anything, program stops) I don't know how to move forward, already did google for hours...

What I can launch is TF2 for example, haven't got many games installed yet, will try other games too when got time.

Tried updating drivers, reinstalling drivers, ( graphics drivers) tried updating directx12 I think, but not sure if I was successful with updating dx12.

ooh, I did the sfc /scannow a few times already, it shows no errors. I will look if dism can do anything (have't used dism yet in my life I think)

If I reinstall...woldn't I still get the errors I got before tempering with the files? So can't play unless finding better fix?

Exit Steam.

Check under your folder Steam\steamapps\common\(game names)

Under each of the Steam Games, you might find a folder called "_CommonRedist". If so, go under that folder and find others folders such as "DirectX" and/or "vcredist".

Find and run the "DXSETUP.exe" for DirectX and "vcredist_x64.exe" for the Visual C++ Redistributable Package.

These are the packages Windows needs to run those games. After installation, reboot the PC and go back into Steam to try the game again. You will probably find this will do the trick and all your Windows needs.

If the game still doesn't run, then right-click it > Properties > Local Files (tab) > Verify Integrity of Game Files. This will check to ensure the game files match the latest online and aren't corrupted or missing.

If still no luck, then go to your motherboard's official website > support > download drivers. Update and install the latest drivers. Do the same for your graphics card.

Your Windows is most likely fine, it's rather the Redistributable Package or the Drivers.

"d3dx9_43" - Is referring to a DirectX 9 runtime for that game. If you can't find or the Redistributable Package doesn't work from the game itself, you can download the DirectX runtime from Microsoft here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35

While you might already have DirectX 12, older games checking for DirectX 9, etc, still need a runtime for them to work with.

the /CheckHealth parameter is only a quick scan for known errors. Do the full /scanhealth

from a known working pc, download latest windows 10 installer and create your own bootable usb installer (8GB minimum) and use this to clean install windows 10 (delete whole hdd and create new partition as needed)

When os is fresh, you will need to install...

I reinstalled windows, after getting steam and plugging in the drive I had my games on, I was able to launch CSGO without any problems

You still will require everything I listed above. Including you actually installing all the latest drivers. Never rely on what the OS installs for those.

Hello - this message is for Bad Motha. I had to do a full reinstall of windows on my son's computer. I redownloaded Steam and all of the games, but they keep crashing on startup. For example, Civ 5 goes back to desktop, Empires of the Undergrowth just hangs and Starbound errors on loading. How do I check if I have the items you listed for OP? Or, do I just look them up on Windows. Sorry being a noob in advance!
