Are motherboards universal? Your idea sounds good, but I'm worried that my motherboard is incompatible with Ryzen, should I be worried?

What's your current setup?
Send us a CPU-Z validation link: https://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html and information about the PSU.

The only components you plan to upgrade?
I highly suggest to upgrade your RAM to 3200 MHz CL16 or lower CAS.
You have 2 different RAM modules in your prebuilt PC. Did you add 1 module at a point?
You might also think about more SSD storage and HDD storage for your upgrade.

If you want to upgrade your graphics card too, the installed PSU might be insufficient. Rmove the sidepanel, there should be a sticker on the PSU containing all the information.

If you just use your PC for gaming, the 9700k / 9700f, is more attractive.

i would advise against that if your budget is only $1000 as you wouldn't have enough money left over for other upgrades.

9900kf + gigabyte z390 aorus master = $749

or

3600 + tomahawk max = $295

the igpu (non f) can be handy for troubleshooting gpu issues

it also can help with video encoding, taking some load off the cpu and dedicated gpu if streaming while gaming, but it does rob some system ram if its enabled

Yeah, but I'm worried that this year or next year something 10x better will be released and that my hardware will become outdated. So getting best of the best parts will keep me that headstart when something new comes out

Thank you for that additional advice. Would you say it's worth the extra money?

Thank you for these builds, I'll look into them but I appreciate you coming up with them.

Oh, I have a 700w psu is that good enough?

if you have an extra gpu laying around for testing, no its not worth it

if you have a higher end gpu, the extra video encoding load is not anything to worry about

a quality 600w psu is enough for any single cpu and gpu system

the igpu is slightly better than a gt730

Alright cool, so my 700w psu should cover my whole rig. Will I get more FPS if I upgrade to 32gb RAM?

depends more on the brand/model of the psu over labeled wattage

what gpu do you plan on pairing with it?

It's a coolermaster but I'm not sure of the model, all I know is the brand and the wattage output (700w).

I plan to save up for an MSI GeForce RTX2070 Super Gaming X Trio 8GB GDDR6
ugafan 29 ENE 2020 a las 5:24
what about if you sold your current pc and used the money towards getting a new build with the 2070 super? it looks like the gaming x trio is out of stock so i substituted a gigabyte oc 3x.
