Right but I did the 1809 update before it was pulled last month. I didn't have a problem so I kept it.
The #1 rule of IT is if it ain't broke don't try to fix it.
Cause updates go out in regional waves for the most part.
Plus it can depend which branch you have your Windows Updates set to.
Well, its broke. Turned on updates last week, and got 1804. MicroShaft immediately voided my Office Pro license.
Went to log into Steam today, to make a wish list purchase, and my password did not work. Reset password. password did not work. Reset pass word for the third time, password did not work.
I can reset the password, I can log into the website, but the steam client will not work. Im thinking that I have to delete the steam client, I should install as admin, and run as admin, and have it open the pod bay doors HAL :P ( I mean open the proper ports...)
We shall see.
Windows 10 Build 17134.rs4_release.180410-1804 Grrrrrrrrrr

The new build gets updated as they validate it for more systems, so no point forcing it, otherwise its a gamble. 1809 last release was a flake, I manually installed it on several of my secondary systems, some survived, some failed outright, was a mess, so no hurry.

Basically, Windows 10 broke everything. I am downloading and reinstalling everything.
Most of the stuff is small utilities, no registry stuff. cc cleaner, but the one that KILLS ME is ...
Path to Exile, now at 4% of 48GB... its going to take all night.
CCleaner messes with the registry, FYI. Usually not enough to cause problems, but it can. General rule of thumb, don't mess with the registry unless you know exactly what you are messing with.
By default, no it does not. Disable the Monitoring + Auto-Cleaning within its settings.
Nothing about CCleaner is harmful. Even the Registry Cleaning option; as that just removes dead links in the Reg, so what, no harm can be done there.
Just never clean with CCleaner or tools similar to that, prior to a reboot first. This helps ensure you aren't removing temp files that may be needed to complete something you just installed or uninstalled while in the current OS session. This is one reason CCleaner has option in settings for "Only remove files in Temp that are older than 24 hours" to avoid accidents which could mess up something you just installed, as those newly installed things that ask you to reboot, such as Drivers, usually are holding files in the Temp folder, waiting to be launched or injected into the OS structure during the next reboot process.
