DDR2, DDR3 and DDR4 all run at different voltages.

you cannot mix ddr3 and dd4 on those boards, you use either one or the other
but ddr3 will severly hurt the performance of a compatable cpu in those boards
and you will need ddr3L (low voltage, 1.35v) to avoid doing damage to the cpus imc
They work together on Skylake as the memory controller is the same.
same with ddr/ddr2 and ddr2/ddr3 that cannot mix them
each ram gen has different timings and speeds that are not compatable with eachother
