What im confused about is the fact my clocks wont go to 5ghz when turbo kicks in... it only gets to 4.7ghz
Dw about it. I enabled sync all cores and set it to 5ghz. Now i get normally about a 100fps in gta 5.... my gpus are slacking. Nothing is broken :D
And, enjoy the oven that is the i9-9900k.
Iv tried everything to get it to hit the temps thats been on the media but so far havent even hit 90 yet. Iv tried everything to make it hit that and so far havent.
The most i got was 85c and thats with prime95.
I also have the i9 9900K @ 5.1Ghz with a 1.250v, no matter how much i run Prime95, my temps NEVER go above 72oC, I'm using an NZXT Kraken x62..
Edit: Check out this video guide from der8auer on overclocking the 9900k..

Vsync is off. Im running 1080p so my 2 1080 tis are slacking off a bit thus giving me a bottleneck ergo lowering my fps. I will later on upgrade to a 1440p monitor.
Check out the video from der8auer i posted ^^, may help a bit more with your OC..
Hi Monk,
Will be interesting to see what you can get out of your 9900k, i can't get past 5.3Ghz with voltage of 1.400, dont want to push any more through it, but it runs happily at 5.1 on a 1.250v
So all core boost is 4.7Ghz which is what you are getting. If you want 5Ghz on all cores you need to do overclocking.
Edit: Just saw you did what i recommend so i guess im late lol.
Every Intel CPU has MCE. The 4.7 GHz is already the MCE/Speedstep. If you want 5.0 GHz you have to overclock with the multiplier or by deactivating C-States.
BTW MCE is turned on by itself. If you want it to run consistent you want to turn it off tho. Just watch a guide on how Speedstep works and you know why.
