Best GPU for FX-8350 before bottlenecking.
I find that for example online multiplayer games like multiplayer BFV cause bottleneck.

Would a GTX 1070 be my limit ?

Thanks

just raise visual settings and live with the cpu bottleneck

games that recommend a i series or ryzen will not play as well as intended, when using fx

If you're upgrading, I recommend you upgrade to a new platform instead.
Can you post your current GPU?
I think the FX-8350 bottlenecks the weaker GTX 1060 at 1080p.

you probably should consider to upgrade cpu too

So you have the GTX1070 already or what?

Bottleneck happens but it depends on the severity per individual game.

I played BFV single player with an FX8350/GTX1070 maxed quality DX12 1080p had maybe 3 hic ups in Norway section maybe a sec at a time.

Comparing the GTX1070 to the Rx 580 on the same FX8350 ya the GTX1070 is noticeably better even with the apparent bottleneck.

You might find that interesting ^ notice 2700x vs 9900k with GTX1070 no diff in multiplayer and the extra FPS between the 2600x-2700x.

When it comes to graphic cards - you just buy the best one you can afford. FX-8350 sure can't provide comfortable experience in most of the modern games, but if CPU can only draw that much frames - there's basically no limit to how good those frames can be on the GPU-side. In case you've got excessive GPU power - you can simply use that to increase the resolutions and/or add heavy antialiasing methods.
Overall, if you're comfortable with how much frames your CPU can deliver - go with any card your money can buy. The better the card is - the longer it will be able to run latest games on decent settings, and you can always use it for your next PC. But if your CPU performance is insufficient for you - consider upgrading mobo/cpu/ram as well. Try something around what Rumpelcrutchskin posted in the first answer.

I upgraded to an rtx 2080 while i had an fx cpu with no issues, It was a stepping stone to my current ryzen system. I had no issues other than the gpu ran very cool and was never stressed even at absolute max settings, go for it.

It won't matter. FX350 is too weak for BFV

Idk, looks pretty playable to be, especially considering it's pretty much running stock here.

FX-8350 is still a relevant low end CPU. I would just raise the game resolution or graphics setting until the CPU is no longer the bottleneck. There are people out in the wild that still use the 8350 for 4k gaming because it can generally handle 60 fps gaming just fine.

If you have a gtx 1070, keep that for now. Get off the old specs and get a Ryzen 3600, mobo, 2x8gb ddr4 3200... then your same 1070 will do much better. Then upgrade gpu after rtx 3xxx series comes out later this year. And maybe a 1440p/144hz monitor

This. Even if you don't get the best CPU, get on a new socket that has an upgrade path for the future. You have no real options with FX. But you can still use it with a 1070 just fine for now. It is probably near the end of its usefulness though, so I would start saving or start shopping.

Please post your hardware specs including PSU.

I think GTX1050ti is the most powerful GPU which could run at its best without being bottlenecked by CPU, from RX570 4GB higher the CPU starts to bottleneck.
