So the new Corsair A500 cpu cooler shown as CES - I want I want (well maybe)
I have been on the lookout for a good CPU cooler with the specs I want:
Easily replaced fans with whatever brand I choose.
Can handle large memory modules - or any size really.
Easy to install without having to remove the motherboard.
It seems to fit all 3 which is good.

I have two computers - the first an i7-3770k, z77 extreme6 Motherboard + 32GD DDRR3 1600Mhz memory and an 8 year old CPU cooler the arctic freezer 13 https://www.arctic.ac/worldwide_en/freezer-13.html
Oh and now linux as the OS. It used to be my gaming machine.
The CPU fan is a little rattly & in need of replacement. As for using the standard intel fan - no thanks.

Second computer MSI B450 tomahawk motherboard Ryzen 5 3600X CPU, 16GB 3200Mhz CL14 RAM + GTX 1080 ti with windows 10 professional. It is my gaming PC.
The included CPU cooler annoyed me with its noise so got a cooler master hyper 212 Led turbo
https://www.coolermaster.com/au/en-au/catalog/coolers/cpu-air-coolers/hyper-212-led-turbo/

It works great for my needs.

So the plan is - put the hyper 212 turbo in the linux machine.
The Corsair A500 then in the Windows 10 machine.
I may consider at some point corsair fans for the A500 and use the Ml120 fans as case fans.

there are Ml120 & Ml140 as case fans in my gaming machine as case fans already and are happy with them. Just do not ever rev them up to maximum speed if you wan to keep you hearing.

I can mix & match fans between the computers.

I am looking for reviews of the corsair A500 but there are not many right now.
I am interested in how it performs with the Ryzen 9 processors, specifically the 3900X & 3950X.

I am not looking to buy one of these processors soon but want to have a cooling option ready for them.
It is more likely I will buy a Ryzen 4000 12 core CPU in a few years. The ryzen 9 cooling will be a good estimate for having enough cooling capacity. It would mean a BIOS update obviously and apparently the motherboard power delivery is good enough for a 12 core CPU.

So does anyone have info on websites or videos of the Corsair A500 cooler performance with ryzen 9 processors?

Useful info appreciated.
Trolly BS not so much.

I'm afraid that cooler is not very good for its supposed price ($100). Take a closer look, there is a big hole in the middle, so the heat sink itself is not very big. And only 4 direct contact heat pipes!
I'd be surprised if it can out perform the $60 Noctua NH-U14, let alone the $75 NH-D15S.

Pretty much what I expected. Only able to compete with other $100 coolers in cooling performance at a much higher noise level.
>cost more than Noctua
>performs similar / same
>louder
Yeah, dead on arrival.

It looks really good, much better than my noctua NH-D15S. But yeah i really could not tolerate the noise... (For me, anything over ~800rpm is TOO LOUD).
Also, Corsair product without RGB?! Is the world ending or what???

Seriously tho, if they improve it a bit i would buy it for sure. Just needs to be a bit bigger and use their flagship LL140 RGB fans.

Interesting. As I stated I have two machines. The first one - general use I want quiet all the time and is possible as the power consumption is low.

As for the gaming machine, where i may install the cooler it is different. It is for gaming only.
I want it very quiet at low load when updating/downloading steam games.
When gaming it will be noisier of course. That can be partially remedied with a 5 metre display port cable. Also when gaming my headphones are on. There is also the option for swapping the fans for maybe noctua ones.

Noctua already release chromax version of their fans if you really care abt looks. It's hard not to recommens noctua, since their cs is really good
