PC STUTTERS IN ANY GAME FOR NO REASON HELP
Here are my specs :

-Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-7500 CPU @ 3.40GHz
-16gb RAM
-NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080
-Os is Windows 10 (64 bit)
-2 monitors, main one is S27D360 Samsung
-238GB SSD and 1863GB HDD
-Motherboard ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. B150M-A/M.2 (LGA1151)

What I've tried so far :
-updating drivers and reinstalling them
-cleaning inside of computer thoroughly
-scanning for malware
-disabling game mode and useless game overlays
-monitoring temperature and nothing is too hot

Still getting random stutters even though framerate is above 100, I notice it tends to happen when I melee attack something (in Republic Commando and Halo Reach for instance) Really don't know what to do anymore,

Thank you in advance for any help :)

I never said anything about a bottleneck. I'm saying to cap FPS to reduce usage.

So, by your logic, a CPU should be fine running at 100%, or what about 100% of your RAM?
Both of these are bad, so why exactly is it fine to run a GPU at 99/100%?

Again, changing what I said. I said BELOW 95%. (NINETY FIVE, because you had trouble understanding the numbers last time. B^) )

You've never heard it talked about by anyone because they don't understand. The myth of ''99% GPU usage is GOOD!!'' was constantly said over and over, until everyone believed it's true.

I think a few frames of less latency outweigh your ''muh higher FPS'' number. A few frames, even at 144fps, is a lot of time.

Because 99% usage means that the GPU runs at peak performance. Its nothing bad about it. Have you ever run a benchmark??? Or are you using a Frame rate cap for that as well???

In fact 100% CPU usage isn't bad either. Video rendering or any other intensive tasks can push your CPU to its limits too. But when it happens in games it means there's a bottleneck. But also keep an eye on your GPU usage. No 95% is fine as long as its consistent. if its drops under 90%, that's not a good sign, unless its an older title. Or games that are hard capped to 60 fps, such as a fighting game. I never said anything about it being bad. sure you could run a GPU even at 30%. But for modern titles you wan it to close to 99% if possible.
It doesn't though, lmao.
Benchmarks and rendering/editing are a completely different workload, and shouldn't be treated the same.

Yes, it does mean there is a CPU bottleneck if your GPU is lower usage, but that's not what I'm talking about, like I said in my older posts, I'm saying to CAP YOUR FPS so you REDUCE YOUR GPU USAGE.

So, can you tell me why ''99% GPU usage is a good thing, and why people would want it?'' or are you just going to say ''It is bro, trust me!'' again?

No thanks, I'd rather educate people that the '99% = GREAT!' myth is wrong.

A 7500 can be "thread deficient". The fix is to cap the framerate as discussed in GN's RDR2 cpu performance review.

Oh but because you are one.
As I've already said, monitors above 60Hz are still made here on Earth, so they work the same way as 60Hz ones, except for higher refresh rate. 144hz screens also have tearing, so yeah, same rules apply to them.
Unfortunately, you weren't able to understand my question, so, please, do read it again.
>>So does the framerate cap solve the tearing, or VSync does?

You're doing it again !!! Now i'm wondering why you were banned last week.
Seems like your echo is bigger than year brains. Making false accusations. Treating me like an idiot.

You clearly still don't get the picture do you???

Of course i know that you need V-sync, G-sync or Freesync to have a tear free experience. Why do i need to explain these things to you??? Since you're so the called Mr perfect knows all.

I'm just saying that 100 fps shouldn't cause any stuttering, it should technically only cause screen tearing when you use a 60hz monitor. Stuttering is not related to screen tear. Yes obviously you cap the frame rate to your monitors refresh rate. But for some reasons you call me out, because i forgot to mention V-sync?
Yall should keep fighting, this was entertaining

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
