As far as the issues you had with it. Wipe all the drivers. Update Win10 to 1909. Once no more Windows Updates and PC has been rebooted, download/install all latest drivers... Mobo chipset, gpus, audio, lan, wifi, bt; etc. Then set nvidia gpu as global default.
Power set to balanced or power saving is fine for doing everyday tasks. Switch to high performance profile and have it plugged into the wall if you intend to do gaming.
Some laptops are upgradable, some have swappable GPUs (Is getting rare today) and swappable CPUs (these machines are mainly desktop components crammed in to a laptop body, only found in $1000+ machines).
Laptops generally have the same life span as most other devices which is random. It might die in 2 weeks or 20 years.
If your gaming laptop has "Software conflicts" uninstall the bloatware. You don't need any of the bloatware these machines ship with, purge Windows after buying one.
Touch devices such as tablets and smart phones lack processing power and proper input devices for web browsing and text editing unless you want to carry more perriferals such as external keyboards with you. These devices are increadibly limited in what they can do, they are useless for anything besides watching Youtube and playing Angry Birds. A few phones are an exception to this, phones which can run a Linux virtual machine or even run a native 2nd monitor can be used as a full "desktop" computer, you do require a monitor, dongle and peripherals to do this of course.
Gaming consoles are a locked down platform which can only game and use stupid apps. These devices are useless for browsing, text editing or "PC" gaming. The Switch is also the only hand held in the current generation (Vita doesn't count since it sucks and Sony killed it ages ago).
What use would an idiot proof OS be to someone who wants to get actual work done on their machine and maybe also do some PC gaming? A Switch would be very limited in what it can do (Without hacking it and dropping Linux on it)
The issue with gaming laptops is that most people that buy then just put them at home on a desk somewhere. They don't need a portable machine, a desktop would have been better for them, would have been cheaper and provided them with a better more powerful machine overall.
The people that do need them generally need them for work or school, they might require the more powerful GPU and CPU for productivity or to do some gaming while away from home.
The gaming laptop is an all-in-one device. It can game, it can browse, it can do office and school work. Other devices like phones, tablets and handheld game consoles can only do one or two or these things.
1) consoles can play for hours without being connected to electricity (Switch)
2) upgradable laptops are very limited
3) anyone with some experience on HW can say desktops components have a higher lifespan than laptops.
4) easy to use and user friendly is a plus for a lot of people, and very limited people like Linux which actually have very few games compatible.
I myself enjoyed Windows Phone OS and now I am hating Android (in the finest version of it, Pixel).
That's also why a lot of people prefer Windows XP at Windows 10.
2) Upgradable laptops are almost as upgradable as a PC. Only the GPU choice is a bit limited. And if you care about upgrading why recommend consoles?
3) I have a bit more then some experience with hardware. And I actually have to say I saw more desktops with hardware defects then laptops when I did computer repair.
4) Windows Phone, that project from Microsoft and Nokia which they killed because nobody bought these things. Three years ago they killed 8.1 and last month they killed 10.
Anyone with a bit of interest in serious tech wouldn't want to use such a nasty locked down proprietary spybrick. These devices are useless and can't do anything, that is besides the fact that Microsoft killed the product off and isn't supporting it anymore.
Most games run fine on Linux.
You are just here to flame bait and complain, your arguments make no sense and you recommend alternative devices which suffer from the same faults and limitations as the gaming laptop.
1) it's a nonsense
2) false
3) I saw the opposite
4) Bill Gates recently said his most remorse has been to interrupt WPhone production and this dude has hundreds of industries and trademarks.
Also I can tell you Microsoft is not so smart on secondary business, they are very focused on primary ones like PC or Enterprises systems, they also interrupt Age of Empires Ensemble Studios which gained them a lot of money for no reasons and they recently claimed that too.
For the last sentence I think you are a good dude and have a good HW knowledge but sometimes as me you make some mistakes and claiming me as a troll is definitely one of these.
Anyway I wish you a happy new year...
Sure that's all fine for lesser demanding apps.
And meant to able to easily transport where needed, then plug in to charge and game.
The fact that you once again say something baseless and controverial and then actively disagree with everything stated as a counter argument proves my point.
No matter what the people here say, you will just keep insisting that gaming laptops are useless.
When everyone disagrees with you it should be obvious that what you are saying might not be correct.
