Is there a way to dim the lightbar on a PS4 controller when I use it with steam?
I share a room with someone and would prefer to not shine a spotlight on the wall anytime I want to play Hat In Time

steam -> settings -> controller -> general
select the controller -> preferences
pick color

you might not be able to choose brightness, but blue/red may be darkish

alt is to take apart the controller and unplug its led/micro usb board

Or cover it with some tape. But steam should have an option to disable it completely. Wish the PS4 had an option like that.

Which is stupid. Since the lightbar drains battery life too. There should be a off switch for it. Since the PS4 controller battery's doesn't last very long.

Open it up and disconnect the ribbon cable that runs to it if you really want or improve its batrery life. That's what I did.
