How to enable Adaptive Syncing?

So i recently got an Amd Freesync Monitor thats suppose to run at 144hz but for some reason when i turn Freesync the Refresh rate Number on my top right stays at 144, Even if the fps dips below that it still stays at 144 and im confident its not truly on

Things to Note:
I have a Nvidia GPU (Yes i Enabled G Sync / Vertical Syn in Control panel)
Yes FreeSync is on in the monitor settings
Yes im using Display Port

if the display uses gsync/freesync enable that in the gpu control panel, and off in game settings

adaptive toggles vsync on/off, on when above the refresh rate, off when below
