wired or wireless (what bt receiver)
the latest firmware on controllers limited their ability to connect with some devices
the game freezing can be other stuff too
bad hdd, other drivers, usb devices, background programs ect..
maybe power supply related if the gpu driver crash/recovers
ms or clone? what is that? If you mean if it's an original controller then yes it is.
Wired.
The game is on an SSD and I have no issues running other games from it.
My PSU is a 600W be quiet! That's not the problem.
what model?
if its has a 110/220v select switch or not rated for 100-250v (with no switch) then its a passive pfc and 15+ year old design and should be replaced
It's 1 year old.
looking close at the plastics to compare or the stickers
clone ms hologram will be a little blurry or look for chinese/spanish writing on the labels
unless you got the controller with a console or new us retail store in pkg it may be a clone
my mexican x360 clone was from amazon, packaging looked identical to us, but controller has spanish label, slightly more glossy plastics, its unable to wake the steam link

make sure the gpu is plugged into 12v1
if the gpu has 2x 6//6+2s power plugs use one on v1 and the other on v2 so it gets power from both rails

It's a tier B PSU.
It's not a fake, Jesus. It's an official MS controller that came in its box and all. I bought it new in a retail...
It's made in china obviously, but the sticker is in english. Model 1708 if that helps.
Can you unplug some peripheral usb devices and test?

easiest way to spot a fake/clone is if it does not work properly or feels unlike an official controller
did you check my edit?

Yes, I saw your edit, thanks. It's both on v1 atm, I'll plug the 6+2 into v2 in a minute.
