Cheapest GPU for 4k video

My dad has ordered a 4k TV to use for his pc but currently has a GTX460 as his gpu which I'm assuming won't handle 4k very well.

Anyone know what the cheapest gpu is that can run 4k? There's no gaming done on this system, it's just for displaying and playing 4k videos on YouTube and such

i meant gaming wise. the 1030 is terrible consideration value wise. 1050 ti also come with no pcie cable needed, but considering its a gtx 460 its replacing, that shouldnt be an issue.

The OP dad has no interest in 4K gaming on this PC connected to 4k TV. Plus no gpu will help you there because the cpu would be too poor for demanding games anyways.

All FM2 cpus are below the performance of a 6th Gen Pentium. Think about that for a moment.

exactly, but op is stuck in a conumdrum where he lives 250 miles away from his dad, and i think transporation is a problem. I would personally recommend just trashing the current cpu and gpu. and making a new ryzen build since it can perfectly handle 4k 60 hz hdr content. but thats really up to the op.

Only reason i suggested a 1050ti is because if a gpu replacement is the only option, then thats the only thing to be done even if the cpu is utter garbage.
