Active dp to dvi-d adapter
It should be dp male to dvi female.
This way dp plugs into gpu side, display connects to it via dvi male to male cable
Here, 1440p at 60hz
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B016ULAC5K
Make sure you use aa dvi-d dual link cable between display and adapter
Single link is limited to 1080p@60, dual link - 1440p@60 or potentially 2160p but only at 30Hz.
The biggest issue is getting adapter which actually uses dual link, and not only adapter even cable can be an issue as there are a lot of fake ones where all the pins are populated but not connected.
Be prepared to return such adapters if they do not work. It happens. Also if you have original cable use that, if you do not - verify that it is actually dual link or you will be assuming adapter does not work while in fact cable is bad.
So it will work for the OP as it's not limited to 1080p
would this work? all i need is the dvi part to go into the monitor i have the hdmi's and display ports already this one says it goes up to 4k
