Can't say how much it helped as I used it after delidding my cpu. Delid + that paste I'm around 15-20 degrees cooler.
EDIT: Link to some thermal paste tests
https://www.kitguru.net/components/cooling/dominic-moass/thermal-paste-head-to-head-does-it-matter-which-brand-you-use/
But silver is conductive, so i would've thought that's a bad thing to put on a CPU?
LOL. I know where to apply it, i just thought adding stuff thats conductive isn't a good idea.
I googled around & saw a few vids on youtube that say it's not conductive anyway.
sorry....
Gelid GC-Extreme for quick applications requiring good thermals.
Any liquid metal, never again except if delidding comes back.
I have a feeling I will be replacing the Gelid GC-Extreme with Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut for my next build.
The only case when thermal paste might matter are high-power chips without IHS. Like 200-300W GPU-s, significantly overclocked delidded CPU-s and such. But even with them something like MX-4 is totally enough. You will gain few C with liquid metal, but it is a pain to use and often is not worth it. Better paste? You will have trouble trying to notice any difference.
For anything with IHS and not overclocked - it does not matter, plain and simple. Any paste will work as long as it is not toothpaste and difference will be almost impossible to notice.
The cooler you're mounting on top is conductive too.
If you're not overclocking, the whole question is moot.
