Going from 1600x900 to 1920x1080 (Ho much fps would I lose)
Just wondering how much fps would it take if i go for 1080p. Using 900p currently.

It's a 2013 single-core intensive game. Try something actually CPU-intensive like Assassin's Creed: Odyssey or Watch Dogs 2.

I saw it use all my cores and threads on my i7 8700K. Plus the game is from 2015. Not 2013.

The game was console released during 2013. Didn’t come out until 2015 for PC

I can’t even run GTA 5 on this laptop. Every single benchmark video tells me I am capable of running it ultra 30 FPS. But even at window/fullscreen 768p with every single configs I can get my hand on and overclock, I still get ♥♥♥♥ on. Worse part? For the first 5 min, I can drive with no stuttering. Until I pass a certain part of the story, the game lose it ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mind.
Make a new thread with your specs.
I gave up while ago and refund the damn thing.

Which doesn't make it a 2013 game. The PC version is an updated version.

What are you talking about, son? It is a 2013 games. A Team Fortress 2 is a 2007. If we got heavy update, do we call tf2 a 2020 game? No! It is still 2007, no matter where it came out.

Sure, it got a better graphic on newer system, but it is still a 2013 game.

Sure. You can throw 20 cores and still see some usage on each, because Windows scheduler will try to split the unsplittable. This doesn't mean that game can use 20 cores. i7 8700K, you say? Decrease some in-game settings to make sure GPU doesn't come anywhere close to 90% and CPU will be the limiting factor, and then check the CPU usage. It's gonna be up around 50-60%, minding overlays, background tasks etc., which is how much cores/thread the game can actually use.
Oh, and if I install some 2019 graphical mod to TES IV: Oblivion it won't magically make it a 2019 game. GTAV is initially a 2013 game, and it has barely changed since then except for few graphical features. It certainly did not change the engine, and the engine is not able to use DX12/Vulkan.

Take Crysis for example: it still use mostly 2 cores when you have quad cores. Hence, that’s why you’re not getting full performance out of the game, due to limitations in core usage. Correct me if I’m wrong.

You are correct. Back then game engines were made thinking CPUs will keep getting more and more per-core performance, yet CPUs gone the other way. This is how "Can it run Crysis?" is still a question so many years later.

And that’s why some people still struggle to run older game on the newer system.

I ran with normal settings. But the GPU still hits 99%. But i also Tested Rise of the Tomb Raider which does push the CPU pretty hard on 1080p, and i still didn't notice a big difference. certainly not 20 to 30 fps like it was shown in the video. I don't have Watch dogs 2. And Assassin's creed is even using 100% CPU on 4K, and the frame rate is utter garbage. Lots of stuttering.

You won't lose any fps
I guess you haven’t been reading the thread. You’ll lose frame rate because increase resolution will produce more stress for your CPU.

There’s your problem. You’re trying to run 4K, WHILE your cpu is at its 100. That is not normal.

The Only game that it happens on. The game is pushing my CPU hard regardless of the Resolution. I've read its because they're using a very bad implantation of Denuvo.

ah these things. they ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up arkham knight as well. from what i heard from epic game store, removing D boost frame rate by 10-15 but i suspect there was a possible margin of error in couple vid i've seen.

I was one of the people Who played Arkham Knight on launch. It was so bad. It actually still isn't stable. Still lots of stuttering, and the GPU usage is jumping all over the place.

But i think we're getting off topic.
But Higher resolution should put less stress on the CPU, and more on the GPU. That's why i play most of my games on 1440p or 4K.
