i got a 144hz monitor, but i cant get it to 144hz.
i have my 144hz monitor connected to my pc through dual link dvi. it says online that dual link dvi is capable of supporting 144hz. but whenever i try to choose the 144hz option my monitor goes black and goes back to 60hz. i have no idea what the problem is, im thinking of getting an hdmi mini to hdmi cable. but it is still isnt clear to me if hdmi 1.4 can support 120hz or 144hz. plz help

my monitor has display port, hdmi, and dual link dvi. and my pc has dual link dvi and an hdmi mini (im not going to include vga since it doesnt support 144hz).

I would not get your hopes high,

Amazon also does not mention dvi 144hz
Best is return the monitor and do some more research and buy a decent brand

Looks like you need to connect via DP to use 144hz

Second heading on the right (important part is last sentence)

144Hz refresh rate
This monitor has a refresh rate of 144Hz. That is 144 times per second that the image is replaced. This ensures that with rapid movements in the image, it will continue to look smooth. So no blurry and shocking images.Connect the monitor via the DisplayPort.

There's DP to HDMI adapters but I'm honestly not sure if they'd allow higher refreshrates.

If anything it would have to be DP to HDMI 2.0 since your DP port on your GPU is the one allowing 144hz I assume. Sadly initial google results on the topic don't look particularly promising though.

Nope they don't. Adapters are for compatibility, DP on one end won't increase bandwidth at all since the other end is still HDMI.

What are your system specs? 1.4 HDMI supports 1920x1080 @144Hz

Only if the monitor supports it as well.

DVI and DVI-dual look very similar, double check that you actually have a DVI-dual. HDMI 2.0 supports 144hz if the monitor is compatible i believe.
