High fps but games feel choppy / not smooth
hey, as the title says i have high fps in all games but games still feel not smooth
heres my specs:
AMD Ryzen 5 2600
8GB of RAM 2400 mhz
MSI 1060 6GB Armor Graphics Card
1TB of Storage
Microsoft Windows 10

i think its worth mentioning that i ordered new 2x8 gb 3200 mhz ram, of hopes that it would fix this problem..
also ive watched a lot of tech videos and a lot of people say 60 fps in plently and smooth but for me when my games are 60 fps they feel EXTREMELY unsmooth and choppy,

I guess im looking for some suggestions, maybe someone can relate to this and maybe someone has fixed this problem for them selves

Only have 8GB of RAM instead of 16GB? Try monitoring your RAM usage while in-game and see if your close to hitting your max. If you are, try closing all software running in the background you are not using (Chrome, Spotify, Discord) Also make sure it is running at it's advertised speed, since some motherboards by default have the RAM run only at 2133MHz... Can be changed by turning on a XMP profile in the BIOS.

If that isn't solve your issue make sure to update Windows, your GPU's drivers, and maybe even update your motherboard's BIOS.

I would highly recommend putting the OS on an SSD, not only does Windows load time drastically improve but just using your OS feels so much snappier.

I'd still recommend it. Anyways back on track, what PSU and motherboard?

my ram almost always hits 100% according to the task manager, ive tried unecessary programs but the problem still remains
also ive checked task manager and i have 8gb of ram but only 4.6 gb is usable, idk why OS takes like 3 gb of ram.
hell even at the moment i have 2 chrome tabs, discord, spotify and steam opened and my ram is at 50 %
I know right? Sometimes 30fps on a console feel smoother than 60fps on a PC. That's because consoles have CPU-level framerate limiter in almost each game, and PC games don't.
Here's a decent explanation of what it is, why it happens, and how to fix it.

Yeah RAM is the likely suspect, 3-5GB taken by the OS is normal, which doesn't leave much for games.
Also watch the video Snow posted, see if that helps.

That is a bit too high. I think you might have this rare issue of superfetch memory leak. Try disabling it, here's how to do it.

ive got a 450w PSU, a week ago it started turning off at random times when playing games like gta v but it somehow fixed itself and i havent had a problem with it turning off anymore
my motherboard is B350M PRO-VDH, ive installed the driver on it

That is likely your issue, you should upgrade to 16GB if you're gaming and miltitasking. You could try and find another duel 8GB kit (4GBx2) and make sure they have the same voltage requirements, speed, and timings.... Or the easier and probably better option is just sell the sticks you currently have and get a dual kit of 16GB (8GBx2)... This would also allow you to get much faster RAM, AMD Ryzen CPUs work much better with fast RAM. I suggest you get at least 3000MHz speed and CAS latency of 16 or lower. (You're motherboard might only support up to 2666MHz but 3000MHz will still work, and its pretty much the same price anyways.

Do you know the PSU model #? It turning off isn't a good sign. Use DDU in safe mode to uninstall old GPU drivers and disable windows ability to handle drivers, then clean reinstall directly from Nvidia and don't install GFE.
