High CPU usage & Error Code 0033 when booting

I've recently fresh installed Windows but I haven't reinstalled all of the drivers off of the driver disk because an error comes up saying "Failed to load Hardware Monitor Driver". I used DriverEasy to see what drivers I have to update and apparently its only 6, I havent updated them yet as idk how but I'm gonna soon.

Im getting really high CPU usage when opening or using any application. Yesterday my PC was completely fine and I was using it for playing games with no problems, this morning when I turned my PC on I noticed an error code (i think) pop up at the bottom right of my screen just before the post initiates (0033). When playing games like Fortnite, the game itself is using 50-60% of my CPU resources which I suppose is normal for a quad-core cpu but other applications and background processes are also hogging the resources, I can't think of any specifically as this was hours ago.

Typically when gaming I have nothing open except Voicemeeter for my mic, the game, MSI Afterbuner and RivaStatistics.

I've just started downloading CSGO through Steam and my CPU usage shot up to 40%

CPU: FX-4300
Mobo: MSI 760gm-p23(fx)
RAM:8GB
GPU: GTX 960

I did chkdsk as admin in command prompt and it said my hdd is fine, my GPU drivers are up-to-date.

Windows may be generating some indexes of files and such after your new install, or be downloading an update in the background, or be downloading driver updates. Let it sit for a pair of hours or so and maybe it will work better then.

Ok, this problems been happening since around 2pm (7 hours ago) but I have been restarting my PC a bunch in those hours. I'll let it sit for a few hours and if it's still happening I'll have to turn it off and do it again in the morning, I don't wanna leave my pc on overnight.

Also, Realtek Audio HD has completely disappeared from Device Manager, Control Panel and my Sound panel since fresh installing Windows dispite Driver Easy showing that there's a Realtek Audio HD driver update. I can't manually update because it doesn't show in Device Manager to begin with. Any fixes you know of?

The MSI webpage have no drivers since Windows 8 and that's only LAN drivers. Just use whatever Windows 10 installs for you I guess. Nice to not have a lot of junk running anyway.

I suggest you update the BIOS first. This should solve many of the problems you are facing.

Go to the mobo manufacturer and click the "Support" tab, then you will see BIOS. Download that, and put it onto a USB. Many mobos are different so watch a video on how to do it

Never done it before, I have thought about doing it in the past but if I f*** it up is it reversable?

Installing the drivers through their website worked for the Realtek HD Audio sound option, thanks for the help

Im gonna see what happens tomorrow and then ill try upgrading the bios or if there isnt any bios updates ill see about flashing the current bios.

I doubt the BIOS make any difference for whatever runs in Windows. Graphics card and CPU support maybe.

I assume you download it to a USB drive and then update it from within the BIOS itself. Maybe you could clear to defaults first not that I know if that ever make any difference and then save that before you do the flash. As long as the power remain I don't really see why it would go wrong.

Just use Google to find the page for your motherboard:

Then click support -> BIOS for the BIOS.
To the left you have a Products Service listing which say Download, FAQ, Ask a Question and Compatibility. Click the last one and then click CPU to get the PDF.
As for chipset driver:

And click your way through it. I just picked what I think is correct =P

Maybe you'd feel safer doing it yourself now when you know where I looked :)

I think maybe my BIOS is already up-to-date, I ran systeminfo in cmd and found my BIOS version to be American Megatrends Inc. V17.17, 22/04/2015 and on the MSI Support site the latest BIOS version for my mobo is H.H on 23/04/2015.

After the update he do have 17.17 so assuming he did flash the latest one if it's from 23th April I guess you're right.

I don't really know why you'd reset it but if you want to just reset the settings of it there's likely a jumper on the motherboard you can connect to do so.
Above the battery between that and the ATX power connector there's two pins which says JBAT1.
If you make sure to turn off the computer and the power supply and then short those two pins preferably with a jumper (those small plastic things with copper pieces inside which fit onto these pins) and then remove it again the memory which hold the BIOS settings will be lost and everything will be cleared to default. So you'll have to set things like date & time and possibly which is your boot drive again and RAM overclock/settings again if you had any. Alternatively it will likely work to just remove the battery for some minutes while everything else is turned off as well. The manual warn to only do this with the motherboard off and how it will take damage if one do it when it's on so definitely don't do it with power on. But I guess that won't make any difference anyway and now you had already set it to some PCI-express 2.0 mode right? And that helped? Right? So .. All fine I guess.

Likely more useful if you did something which resulted in a state which worked worse and wanted to get back =P
