To 240hz screen owners, worth the price over a 144hz?
To owners of a 240hz monitor, do you feel it was worth the price? Was it a big improvement over a 144hz screen?

I have the alienware 240hz monitor and its nice. I honesty can't tell a huge difference between 144hz and 240hz but the 60hz to 144hz is really nice.

Yes, absolutely! I owned Acer XB272 240Hz Monitor, and as a result, the game felt smoother, responsive, fluid, it has less motion blur, and especially low input lag. Of course, you'll need at least GTX 1080 or GTX 1080 Ti to run 240fps, regardless game title(s) you're playing. And of course, tweak settings to benefit 240Hz refresh rate monitor.

Not unless you have a PC setup that can actually go over 144 FPS. And that would be a GTX 1080 ti exclusively for the most part with a good CPU...the I7 8700K for example. Otherwise its just unused potential.

If you are serious about eSports games, there will be a pretty limited advantage due to the time difference between 144 and 240Hz being incredibly short, but, at the top end it could help a bit, any advantage is good at the end of the day.

For anything else, not really, above 120Hz/FPS spotting any increase in smoothness or responsiveness becomes harder and harder due to just how fast the image is already refreshing at, 60Hz is something like 16.4ms, 144 is 6.7 and I think 240 is around 4ms.

Unless you are in the first category of very serious eSports, a 144 gsync screen would be better overall.

240hz may look nice, but you won't be getting even nearly that high framerates in majority of games.
Now, if you are a serious eSport Competitive gamer, playing CSGO, Overwatch, DOta2 or anything like that, where you can actually reach such framerates and have high refresh rate that high help you...then yes, it's worth it.

for windows desktop programs, its great
for games not so much if the gpu cant push that kind of fps
I switched from 144Hz TN to 120Hz VA to 165Hz TN and lately to a 240Hz TN.

Everything above 144Hz is not worth the money.

The benefit is close to zero if you are not a ESL pro gamer in CS:GO and making your money with that every day.

I would rather save the money and invest in a better graphics card or more memory or have a nice fancy dinner with the girlfriend.

I had a 75hz 120hz 144hz 165hz and 240hz.
It feels like going from 60hz to 240hz. I don't think you will ever need more than 240hz unless you're some sort of CSGO god or what so ever. V/G/Free Sync make no sense with 240hz. There is no tearing at all.
It is only worth it if your GPU can consistantly sustain over 240 FPS without dropping below that on resolutions at 1920x1080 or higher. Otherwise it will create stuttering if you cannot sustain that.
bull_shi_t ... there will be no stutter or anyhting else if you get 160fps @ 240hz.

That's the most told bull_shi_t since years and everyone know's that this is wrong.

Yeah there's definitely no stuttering at nearly any fps w/ this 240hz monitor. I have an i7 8086k and a 1080 (founders edition so nothing fancy) and i can pretty much get 140 on high-ultra on most things but rarely anything pushes 240hz unless you turn a lot of stuff off. I just got it as it was cheaper than the 144hz and the colors were better than what i was seeing in the other monitors.

This is so not true it's ridiculous frankly.

I rather opt for slightly lower framerate of 144fps at higher graphic settings than have to lower the game's graphic settings to hit 240fps. You can get some displays that can overclock to 165hz or 180hz too. Really depends what games you play, what GPU you use, and what graphic settings you like to play at. (Yes there is some games you can play at max settings at 240fps but mostly only old titles or small indie titles.)
