would a q9550 work in a dell vostro 410?

maybe just maybe a q9650 would work too.

Look up the motherboad that is within your exact system. You can't go by Vostro 410 alone, due to they use different mobo over time

Well, the socket is right: LGA775.
But it might not have support through BIOS.

Look up the board, it should have a cpu support listing. Also look up your Dell model via their support page and update the bios

Do you have the Vostro 410 full model? Look at the Dell sticker on the case

it just so happens to have the service tag FPSJX1S

that and the BIOS is at 1.0.3 still dose not show the cpu list ,that or i'm missing something

i've had no lock in finding a cpu list

From what I'm seeing online that Motherboard does support core 2 quad cpu's. But I don't now if you will need a bios update to run the one your looking at.

just doing it up to sell

as for what it has,
e7300 2.66 two cores ,a gtx 760 2gb going to try a gtx 1060 and see if that works with that broad
8gb of ram ddr2 old but it works
700w psw
and a 2tb hhd

also this board for dell is the best they,ever made, had some good times with this board,

GTX 1060 would be a waste (thats on-par with GTX 980) as systems that old won't be able to utilize that kind of GPU performance due to poor CPU; even the Quads aren't good enough; you'd need something like i7-2600K minimum to keep par with a GTX 1060

i may be looking at the 780IT for that pc or a 960 4gb
i know it would be a waste but i gotta try that and i happen to have those two gpu lying around
the 780 ti and the 960 that or i get the 1060

anyways i got a q9550 off ebay, if it works i may try a q9650, but if it dosen't ill post that here anyways.
