That's less than 4k, but it's still going to be a big hit on your framerate.
with 2 accessory displays it will not hurt fps at all
for 3x spanned for gaming, get a gtx 1070, 2060, rx5700 or better
So i think it will work. You will be able to play around with it for a bit and then you will upgrade if you need to.
Also make sure each screen has DisplayPort
I built a rig for my buddy back in late 2013 / early 2014 around an FX-8350 (oc'd) and an R9-290 (non-x) that was used for muiltiple years as a 3*1080p eyefinity setup till he killed his 290 (fan failed and he didnt notice, card overheated repeatedlt till artifacting).
The RX-580 is about 26% faster than the 290 he had, and we used the 290 for full span 5820*1080 gaming in titles such as GTA-V and Battlefield 3/4, Heroes and Generals, The forrest, etc. The system was able to max out all of those titles (within reason, no MSAA on GTA for example) and still pull a pretty solid 60.
Now if you want maxed out tripple screen in late 2019 and 2020 titles, you wont get it, and will have to settle for low/medium settings.
But in raw power there is no reason you cant play Battlefield or GTA @ 5820*1080/60 using an RX580, even more so if its an 8GB model.
Overall, rx 580 is bare minimum now for 1x 1080p Display in demanding games, some are eve way too demanding for a single 580 gpu. As far as getting decent fps without turning visuals down too much. So I'd look at Vega64 or 5700 XT
Perhpas its that I dont play the right titles?...
My secondary rig is still running a 4GB GTX-960 SSC from EVGA, and the girlfriend uses it. Far less powerfull than an RX-580...
She uses it for 1440p/60 in GTA-V, Halo MCC, FC-5, The Forrest, BFV and BF1, among others. Most titles run on medium or high, with the BF titles having to jump to Medium (1) and meium-low (v). All in all though, still rocking 1440p/60 with decent ease...
I still see the RX-570/480 or 1050ti/960-4GB as being the entry 1080p contender, and would think that the 580 could pull more than enough for maxed 1080p.
Afterall, a 580 is almost exactly half a Vega-64 in performance and my vega pulls daily 4K duty. Would reasonbly think that a 580 could pull 1440P just as well as my vega does 4K on daily too.
If you look at it from a point of view like "i set everything to max, i do not get 60+fps in most demanding games, i need new card" than yes. But for most people "bare minimum" would mean setting everything to low and getting like ~30+FPS (so minimally playable at min. settings). And rx588 is not that bad, even for 4k it allows better than "everything to low" settings with 60fps.
Also vega is kind of pointless this days, both 56 and 64, it way too expensive compared to its performance in most cases. It is also much hotter than comparable navi. I'd only buy it if 64 is like 1.5x cheaper than cheapest 5700xt or something like that.
