HP Mixed Reality or Lenovo Explorer?
Looking for a headset to play some VR (Hopefully Half Life: Alyx when it comes out) and im looking at second hand headsets to save price. Both the HP and Lenovo headset sell for around 200 dollars (AUD). Not sure which one i should go for, anyone had experience with these headsets?

i think the lenovo is a higher fov but its something very small like 100 vs 95 but both are pretty much identical in terms of tracking, resolution, 60-90hz. i think the hp has a detachable cable from the hmd which means theres abit of a box close to your head but not really a problem. if its your first hmd you cannot go wrong with wmr super happy with mine and have been since launch

I'd wait for a Samsung HMD Odyssey + to go on sale. Recently they were going on Amazon for $230. So if your budget can be stretched get an Odyssey.

As Wisman said, I've seen the Odyssey go as low as $250 or so. Wait for that, if not then the two you listed are practically the same headset.

I might go for the HP thats selling for 200 bucks at the moment (pretty good deal in australia). Although im not sure if the decreased fov is that bad.

its on par all the other wmr or atleast you wont notice it unless you try an odyssey which is the highest fov of all the wmr hmd. $200aud is a fantastic price considering i paid nearly $800nzd for the same level of headset when they launched :/

i have already tried a lenovo explorer since my uncle owns one, but since i wont use it too much i dont think fov is too much a problem.

They are pretty much the same. following microsofts' base parameters. The Samsungs went with slightly better screens.
As you dont want to spend too much then either will suit. maybe even look at the acer one ( slightly cheaper build quality
I have both the HP Gen one and its successor (Reverb) . The former is still working well under steam vr .
