But, if you want, go for a TCL 55S405. Or any TCL really. Best value for your $$$.
How it will affect you?
Noticable input lag, doesn't look as smooth, and hurts your eyes.
And just because someone else says it's right, doesn't mean it's correct.
And if you get enough FPS, the screen tearing can be minimal; so you would have even less input lag with minimal tearing.
(It would also depend on the game, but most of the time, you're good.)
Also, if you run with Vsync on, you're an idiot. It ruins immersion, and gives masive input lag, so you feel more disconnected with the world than you would with screen tearing.
Because if it's just 60hz, then you will get input lag. Period.
And, you're telling me, if you play a game of CS, and enable Vsync halfway through, there is no change in how it feels?
That was the best answer so far. Check that your TV has a Game mode to reduce input lag. If your PC can't render 4k with robustly high FPS and your TV will have to upscale the picture, it will add a bit to lag. But, unless you're a highly competitive MP player, you'll be generally fine. Your results will be worse than with a display, but playing on TV is not THAT dramatic.
