I've seen children do this from time to time.
Just the other day when Christmas shopping, I seen a kid had one on and was walking from the parking lot with his mother... She yelled "boy, you look like a doofus wearing that thing! Put it back in the car!". It was amusing.
I would recommend taking anything rtings says with a grain of salt. I've found many of their tests to be flawed. Not sure if they know how to use the equipment they have, or don't have them calibrated correctly or what, but their results sometimes don't add up.
Probably going to go for a Sennheiser headset, they seem to be the better option thus far. Think its gsp 370 something, the ones that are more expensive needs a soundcard which i dont have atm(:
You've used the HyperX Cloud 2 outside of your home? Uh, how old are you? If of adult age, you should be embarrassed. If not of adult age, your parents are embarrassed.
None of the GSP series needs a sound card. No headphones "need" a sound card. Sometimes you need higher amplification, but that is about it as far as what you "need". The GSP series does not need amplification, either.
And if you wear any of the GSP line out in public, you'll look more ridiculous than
with the Cloud 2.
If you want something to use in public, use earbuds. Don't embarrass yourself or your friends and family.
Anyways, thank you for your help and your tips for how i look like with headset outside of my home!
Yeah, you are free to do so. You're also free to parade around in a clown suit. However, there are consequences. You will not be taken seriously.
Everything is telling of you not being of age, so it explains exactly why you do not see the importance in your appearance to your peers.
I could also explain how dangerous it is to parade around with a loudly designed gaming headset and the risks of being taken advantage of... But your responses clearly show that you are unwilling to listen to reason.
Enjoy the headset.
While I wouldn't really walk round with gaming headphones on, I'd happily use a decent pair of over ear in public if on a bus, train, cafe etc, I wouldn't use any while actually walking about even in ears, guess I like hearing what's going on around me to much.
I never suggested maturity, only age. It was also based on the OP's replies.
Appearance most certainly is important. If you seen a grown adult, wearing a gaming headset out in public, would you not be concerned in some way? Of course you would. Not only that, but who in there right mind would wear a bully, loudly designed headset in public? You put a target on yourself in many ways.
Over the ear headphones in public is dangerous. You lose awareness of your surroundings. Earbuds are a lot safer to use and can be used with one ear, retaining some awareness of your surroundings.
Just back on Black Friday, a local child had their iPad stolen straight from their hands, in front of their parents. When you are out in public, you need to be aware. If you don't understand this, then I question your wits... Not your maturity.
Mainly because I couldn't find my hat this year when winter hit and the earpads would help keep my ears warm. After replacing my hat I'm back to using my earbds though. Much prefer earbuds when outside side simply because they're small and easier to store when out and about. Has nothing to do with how the Headset looks.
I'm not vain and couldn't care less what a random, judgemental, individual thinks when they see me. If it did I'm sure I could find plenty of things to be judgemental about them in return.
@Monk I'm kinda the same when walking. Another reason why I like earbuds outside home. Can leave one out easily to hear if/when someone speaks. Can also keep volume low enough to hear someone creeping up behind you in the dark
I'll give you that, they are not as flashy as other gaming headsets.
The world is judgemental. It is unfortunate, but it is reality.
One thing that I would be "judgemental" about would be me worrying about my family being around someone that comes off as unstable.
It is also about safety and awareness for yourself, which I stated before. We live in a dangerous world.
I agree with the safety aspect. Been driving 20+ years so have that covered myself even when walking. Seen too many people staring at their phones walk into things and even the roads. And thats without earbuds or headphones on essentially making them deaf to their surroundings. Dread to think how some would cope with their hearing blocked too.
Drove several prototype electric vehicles in the past and my biggest complaint about them every single time is the sound. Even without being on phones the amount of pedestrians that would step infront without looking at me was shocking. Particularly at night when I was the only vehicle on small streets yet they wouldn't notice my headlights.
Ok thanks enough off topic I think....plus it's time to cook.
Off topic, true, but a great response.
Have a good meal!
