Getting this error after trying to do something
Instead of sharing a folder to my main pc from my file server, I tried the drive itself.

Big mistake, when I tried to share the drive it told me the share was made for admin purposes only and will be reset after restart, and it made everything break because I can't connect to the file server now. I pressed the New Share button and it did something but I don't remember what.

On my main's end I get "You can't connect to the file share because it's not secure. This share requires the obsolete SMB1 protocol, which is unsafe and could expose your system to attack.
Your system requires SMB2 or higher." and I will have to add file sharing suppourt to SMB1 in control panel WHICH I DO NOT NEED TO DO SINCE I HAD EVERYTHING WORKING FINE BEFORE.

And when I try to removing sharing from the Hard Drive now it gives me the same message.

I want to bring it back to the original state before ♥♥♥♥ing up but I don't know how.

What are the two OS you are sharing between? And what exact version and build are each?

Latest (Official) Windows 10 build for main pc.

Windows FLP SP2 for the file server.

SMB is never needed for local file, folder, drive sharing so idk why such an error would present itself. And for security purposes make sure any OS you install has this disabled. In Windows remove it from Programs and Features > Turn Windows Features On/Off. But also block it via Windows Firewall.

Take us through the steps you are using in order to share a folder or drive.

As for a home server I would just use a good Linux distro or perhaps Win7 or 10 64bit Pro. Having actual Windows Server OS is just not worth using.

Pentium III and 348mb of ram cant handle much.

Also me neither, all I'm doing is connecting the two with a Crossover LAN cable and doing what you need to set up a connection.

(Set file server to connect to main and vice versa.)
(I used this video: https://youtu.be/CcpH5U3KWts )

I got this error after disabling sharing with D:/IBM (the folder)
And enabled sharing of the folder D: which gave me the message of "admin purposes only and will be reset after restart", issue though, it is stuck on sharing that drive, so I removed sharing but it will be reset after restart to sharing the D: drive.

IBM folder is fine however D: is not.

Why?
CrossOver cable?
No just plug both PC into the router or network switch all using straight ethernet CAT5E cables and view them via Windows Explorer > Network

Very simple

Can't do that.

As far as I know so the files could be shared. I thought it was necessary for file sharing. That's what I figured back when I did experiment with file sharing (over wi-fi though).

Hmm yes of course you can. How do you think everyone does it? You think we link pc to pc via crossover? No cause that method is never needed anymore. That was useful back when home networking was a new thing and serial was slow so we would use a 10mbps or 100mbps nic card with crossover cable cause it wasn't common yet to have broadband with home network router and a NIC standard in every PC

Give me $11 and I'll get a network card, otherwise ♥♥♥♥ off you daft ♥♥♥♥.
Not sure why you're suddenly so hostile towards someone who's trying to help you.
Huh? Network card is built onto the motherboard.

Are you new to PC and Windows Networking?

What I'm saying is we don't need crossover cable anymore. You simply put the PCs on the same network and share files quite easily.
