Maybe try displayport instead and have you checked monitor settings for changing input to DVI right?

I would also use DP if the GPU supports it, easier to manage, the cables arent expensive but dont get a crappy one.

When you changed to the DVI did you do this while the PC was on? If so have you tried changing it to DVI while the PC was off? Could also be a sketchy DVI cable. And be sure you are using the DVI-D port on the GPU and that its a DVI-D cable.

You don't, you use the DVI-D cable and select DVI-D as the input source in the monitor settings, only plug the DVI cable in.

Unless you are using 2 monitors only 1 needs to be connected, otherwise you'll have to go into the NVIDIA/AMD settings and change to that screen which could be why you arent getting signal if you are testing 2 cables at the same time

Monitor settings are accessed by buttons physically on the monitor, you don't need anything connected.

With DVI you need a 3.5mm audio cable connected from your mobo audio output to the audio-in connector on the monitor. That's why there is a sound cable in the box.

DP probably works the same way from reading the manual. Just because DVI or DP can carry sound doesn't mean that the monitor works that way.

Only one cable with work at a time, so if you want to use DVI select it using the buttons on the monitor or remove the HDMI cable for auto-detect.

You might want to turn on loudness in the Windows sound properties as the speakers in these monitors can be fairly soft in noisy environments.

99% of monitor and tv speakers are crap
use a receiver or pc speakers instead

Plug in hdmi and dvi at the same time to the gpu card. Go in Windows and set to Duplicate with WINKEY+P

Then unhook the hdmi.

Problem solved.

Audio just use Speakers or Headset.
Monitor speakers are like 2 watts, total crap

So just to be certain
Youve tried ONLY having the DVI cable connected and switched to the DVI input of the monitor? You'll likely have to manually switch to whichever input you want to use via the monitors settings

Turn the PC and Monitor off
Connect the DVI cable to the PC and the monitor, turn the PC on and wait for it to boot up THEN turn the monitor on and see what that does, just make sure the monitor chooses the correct Input

And double check what DVI cable you're using, whether its a DVI-D cable or DVI-I cable and what port its connected to the GPU

Just press the button on the monitor that switches the input, it's a toggle button. You don't go into the osd menu for that.

I don’t see a VGI d to be connected to my graphics card
