I have a amd fx 8320 at the moment and want to upgrade will the ryzen cpu be better and get better fps compare with a gtx 1070?

Depends on the game, but I will say the cpu will be a good upgrade over your FX 8320, and you be able to play more intensive CPU bound games a lot better.

I have both those CPUs and I can tell you the Ryzen 2700x is a beast. I would recommend the MSI X470 M7 AC motherboard I was able to overclock it to 4.3ghz over all 8 cores 24/7.

i doubled 2.5x fps with fx 8120 and gtx 1070

Depends on the game, some games are more CPU intensive. And having a much better IPC CPU can can provide a better experience. The 2700x is basically double the CPU performance over the 8320. But if want to save I can hands down recommend 2600, or wait until March, or later for the next Ryzen 3xxx series to come out, which the IPC gotten better even more improved from the last series, with extra cores on top of that, but prices are unknown, but we can only assume they be same pricing as the 2nd gen Ryzen came out for, but that's up to OP if OP want to wait a few months.

It is an awesome upgrade to make, definitely go for it.
Didn't understand what u mean by "with a GTX 1070" tho. CPU doesn't care which GPU you use.

fx has half the ipc of curren gen cpus
fx at 4.4ghz, thats about equal to a current cpu around at 2.2ghz

Well, because u don't overclock FX cores until u overclocked RAM and CPU-NB. Small and slow L3 cache is the main issue there.

fx cores pairs share l2 and fpu

I have the sameish FX8350 4.4ghz / GTX1070 / 32GB.

Yes there are countless benches showing how much better it'll be but personally I don't have problems playing my games smoothly and maxed out.

Depends on the game ^. GTX980ti and GTX1070 are somewhat same performance


For me I'd consider upgrading with Ryzen 3xxx when available.

Lol this guy has no idea what he is talking about?? I've over clocked my FX 8320E to 4.4ghz with out touching the ram? Don't listen to snow that's why he's banned. According to him you can run a Pentium P5 with a Gtx 2080ti at 4k no problem.

I think Snow was mistaken with PII that's the one that you'd bump the NB Freq.

Ya the FX8xxx all I do is volts if needed and multi.

And _I_ likes to exaggerate across the board, not all games are created equal.
