I have a FX8300 and want to upgrade my CPU
I was thinking to buy an i5 3rd gen, cause I have a motherboard for LGA 1155 it's a MSI H61M-E22W8[br.msi.com]

games depend on ipc
gaming + streaming uses more cores but the game itself needs core performance
Slightly overclocked FX-8300 got game performance similiar to stock i7 2600. Period.

He won't benefit from such an "upgrade".
nice that he givess the fx every advantage available
over 2x the ram speed, shown in the vid
and the 2600 is slower than the 3770

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28O60-T8fto
for rendering or video editing/encoding fx is faster, but for games i7 wins

fx also takes a good mobo to overclock if you want to avoid a fire or vrm throttling
if he can find a 3770 or xeon e3 1280-1290 it would be better for gaming than fx

other choice is to spend $400+ on a new cpu/board and ram
any modern cpu better than fx for gaming

With the price of a new intermediary CPU I can upgrade all my PC, I'm thinking about buy more RAM, actually I have 8gb, and more 1 SSD to put the games, I can overclock my FX8300 to try getting better results. Can anybody say if my MOBO is good for overclock? my MOBO[www.asrock.com]

The mobo looks ok for a mild overclock.

Overclocking mileage varies but generally an FX8300 can do 4.0-4.2ghz stable however what is your cooler 212evo like?

Again, what GPU is on your system?

Ps, an ssd will help the game load faster but it won't give you more FPS.

FX8300 max temp threshold is 70c in case you're wondering.

I'm trying to find the right words for like 10 minutes already, tho it's hard af. I'm just not sure, are you trolling or do you actually know nothing about the difference between FX-8300 and i7 3770? To the point u actually believe FX-8350 stock speed applied to FX-8300 might cause a fire or throttling. Damn, the guy even linked his mobo. And then u expect him to overclock ram on H61. And then u believe it will make a difference for i7-2600 or i7-3770 like it did for FX-8300. And after all that u link a video with another guy not caring enough to do a little research and do the proper OC present in almost every AM3+ mobo, a function provided by AMD for its users so they actually use it, unlike the 1155 mobos. U didn't even care enough to read the first post, else u'd know it's either AMD 970 or Intel H61 for OP.
Please, stop. You can't help with this matter.

I have the cooler box, so I'm thinking about buy a new cooler, the temperature in idle is 28º~30º

Idle temps don't mean much as they can rapidly jump during the heavy load, so I reccomend using CPU-Z stress-test to see what's your max temp would be after a minute or two of heavy load. Btw u decide to buy a new cooler, CoolerMaster Hyper series that guy suggested are awesome.

I honestly don't see the GTX1050ti as something to worry about as far as bottlenecked with the FX8xxx 4ghz.

Sure top your ram up to 16GB, get an ssd for games or don't I play my games just fine with Win 10 on a 240GB ssd and all my games on Toshiba 7200rpm 3TB hdd.

Ps,In my experience I saw a huge difference going from my old R9 280x to a GTX1070 even though I run an FX8350 4.4GHZ, my 2 cents .

I used the stress-test of CPU-Z, Max temp was 53°C.

I suppose u're unlikely to hit the heat throttling all the way up to 4 GHz per core, so u can just go and start researching FX OC already.

53c is within reason but with a 212evo it would be quieter, approx 15c cooler and could reuse it on a ryzen 3 or 4 down the road.

The CPU-z stress test isn't all that intensive.

Try again with Prime95 to see what the CPU will do in a worst case scenario.
Do you recommend Cooler Master HYPER H410R?

Thing's good. And also compatible with AM4/1151, so u can build a whole new PC and still use it.

the board in the vid was crap for fx anyway
asus M5A78L-M, would throtle with any 125w cpu overclocked (the reason it was not overclocked)
and not even the proper fx chipset (970-990fx)

if the op has a decent board and cooling the 8300 can hit 8350 performance

there are not many comparisons on youtube between fx8 and 3rd gen i7

non k 3770 can only be fsb(bclk) oc by 1-6% on any (non oem) 1155 mobo
but can risk killing the board, or cpu

used 3770 on ebay are around $50-70
alot cheaprer than cpu/mobo/ram
worst case resell the cpu with board

the h104 is a 90mm fan
get something better, 212+ or dark knight are the min if you want to overclock a 125w cpu

Is it that you have already bought it sure use it but if you have to buy one get the Cryorig H7, 212evo or 212led.

But he doesn't. He wants to OC 95W one. Please, stop misleading OP, for real.
