The only way to get Pro is to PAY for it.
Besides the point, why do you feel you need Pro? Most of the features that make Pro different from Home have no value for most users/gamers. You might just be wasting your time pursuing this.
Home + ShutUp10
I had a licensed version of windows 8.1 all of a sudden its asking me to enter product key and now if i try upgrading to win 10 it says upgrade path not supported
Afaik, the option to upgrade for free to a licensed W10, using a W7/W8.1 license, ended a few years ago.
Am I the only one who finds trying to run W10 setup in W7/Vista compatibility mode absolutely hilarious? No offense, OP.
As others said already, you have to pay for a W10 Pro version. You should be able to buy a key for it from a re-seller, cheaper than straight from MS. Just search online.
I might be wrong, but judging from what you're trying to do and how, I honestly think that you don't need that Pro version.
- backup all your files you want to keep
- extract your windows keys with one of these tools[www.lifewire.com]
- fresh install win10 with the same type as your win8 (home or pro or whatever) then use the win8 key to activate
Been well over a year since I did that but it was working, if its not working any longer then get a cheap key as mentioned
