Windows 10 compatibility report, the upgrade path is not supported
Wanted to upgrade my 10 home to 10 pro. I used the setup in windows and after clicking "upgrade" it says "the upgrade path is not supported. relauch.....". Tried the setup from the main and also inside the "sources" folder. There is no installprep.exe and setupprep.exe in the sources folder also. Tried to run both setups in compatibility mode for win 8,7,vista. Also renamed the iso folder and iso file with no space. I can't find anymore fix in the internet, so does anyone know how to fix this?

You have to upgrade the license first, then run the upgrade.

Upgrade using your digital license for Windows 10 Pro:
If you already installed and activated Windows 10 Pro on your device, you'll have a digital entitlement that lets you upgrade from Windows 10 Home to Windows 10 Pro without a product key.

To upgrade, select the Start button, then select Settings > Update & Security > Activation.

If you have a digital license for Windows 10 Pro, and Windows 10 Home is currently activated on your device, select Go to Microsoft Store and you'll be prompted to upgrade to Windows 10 Pro for free.
If you have a digital license for Windows 10 Pro, but Windows 10 Home isn't activated on your device, select Troubleshoot, and then follow the steps to upgrade to Windows 10 Pro.
If you don't have a digital license for Windows 10 Pro, Windows 10 Pro is available for purchase from the Microsoft Store.

Sorry Im just poor. So my guess is only a clean installation is the solution, welp time to find that external hard drive. :)

A clean installation won't help. You still need to PAY for a Pro License to be able to install Pro version. Pro comes in 2 version the upgrade path that you'd need or the full Pro version if you don't own Windows 10.

The only way to get Pro is to PAY for it.
To upgrade from home to pro you just need to enter the Pro key rather than reinstall Windows - Windows home is just Pro with the locked features, entering the key just unlocks these.

Besides the point, why do you feel you need Pro? Most of the features that make Pro different from Home have no value for most users/gamers. You might just be wasting your time pursuing this.
Pro is pointless

Afaik, the option to upgrade for free to a licensed W10, using a W7/W8.1 license, ended a few years ago.
Am I the only one who finds trying to run W10 setup in W7/Vista compatibility mode absolutely hilarious? No offense, OP.
As others said already, you have to pay for a W10 Pro version. You should be able to buy a key for it from a re-seller, cheaper than straight from MS. Just search online.
I might be wrong, but judging from what you're trying to do and how, I honestly think that you don't need that Pro version.

agree the upgrade is long gone, I would:

- backup all your files you want to keep
- extract your windows keys with one of these tools[www.lifewire.com]
- fresh install win10 with the same type as your win8 (home or pro or whatever) then use the win8 key to activate

Been well over a year since I did that but it was working, if its not working any longer then get a cheap key as mentioned
