Quad core CPU , but only 3 cores ??

hi i have AMD athlon 870k quad core cpu but if i go to msconfig - boot - advanced - number of procesor i see only 3 not 4 .

Reset the BIOS.

Go in to the BIOS and tell it to reset to default.

Or remove the CMOS battery from the motherboard for a few minutes.

There's normally a reset to default button in the bios. If you can't find it, just open up your pc case and remove the CMOS battery which is normally below the top PCI slot and after a few seconds, put the battery back in. Either way you do it will reset your BIOS settings to factory settings, so make note of any settings you may have changed

CPU 0 = core 1
CPU 1 = core 2
CPU 2 = core 3
CPU 3 = core 4

ok i just unchecked number of procesors in msconfig and restarted pc now i see 4 cores but thanks for tips

yea i realised that about 10 mins after i wrote it lol.. never had to use msconfig so wasn't sure how the cpu cores were listed in there. most of the time CPU 1 is listed as CPU 0 so i thought maybe that was the problem.
