Weird coil whine?

Most people say coil whine comes from high fps, the higher the worse.. but... In my cases when playing game like rust at 100fps i have a gtx 1080 btw, it is alot worse then playing minecraft at 1000fps+ I have done a cpu stress test and i can safely say the cpu isnt the culpurit it's either the gpu or motherboard, or maybe a case fan? I had an old gpu 1060 which did coil whine to start with then died down to nothing 6months in, i have had this card for about 3 months now. When playing games like fortnite ar 150+ fps it isnt as bad as rust for some reason.

Absolutely nothing to worry about. It is normal.

I know its nothing to worry about, but i'd like to reduce or elimanate it as much as possible, it is annoying you know. Ill probably get a new motherboard soon anyway. People talk about my motherboard causing coil whine, who knows.

Headphones. Turn your volume up. Move the PC further away.

Changing hardware because of coil whine is a little silly.

Ever stepped foot into a server room? Even the shear amount of fans doesn't drown out the coil whine.

That is just how it is, the nature of the beast that is electricity.

:/ Hmm, ok well im going to get a new motherboard soon, when i say soon i mean like 3 months. I used to have it on my old gpu but i think it went away at little bit, hopefully this one will.

I got told that I need a Platinum PSU, replaced Strix with Nitro+ Special and there's a very minimal cw at 75fps. When I have money that I dont need I will try out the SuperFlower Leadex Platinum.

Yes, g3 is a quality psu so i hope its not that. Got a feeling its the motherboard, as the gpu and cpu area all whine, who knows

Yes but it doesn't happen in minecraft at 1000fps it happens at 100+ ish on other games idk really I mean when running minecraft at 300fps there is no whine at all, but running a game like rust at 100fps there is alot more then minecraft at 1000fps ;/

Especially people that play shooters, because it makes mouse movements smoother, even with a 60hz monitor.

I wouldn't buy a '''replacement''' mobo when you've got a perfectly fine working one, even if it has coil whine.

I'd just stick with it, grab a 8700k or 9700k and a mobo for it when you can. Or wait for Zen2.
It's pointless investing money in a quadcore system these days.

I wouldn't buy a '''replacement''' mobo when you've got a perfectly fine working one, even if it has coil whine.

I'd just stick with it, grab a 8700k or 9700k and a mobo for it when you can. Or wait for Zen2.
It's pointless investing money in a quadcore system these days.

Just my thoughts.

Enable V-sync and it will stop the coil whine. If your fps gets that high it can be the cause of the whine...
