PowerA Gamecube PC Setup Causes C stick to drift down.

TL;DR

I have the controllers linked below, I set them up on PC, and the C stick is drifting down. But on switch they're perfect. any workarounds?

So here's what's up.

So I got some of these wireless Gamecube style controllers (Link Below) for switch as a gift for smash. They seem to be clones of the switch pro controller with different shape, and those are known for being PC compatible with some extra steps.

I'm mainly playing PC, so if I could get this working effectively I would have full set of controllers. So I follow the steps to setup over Bluetooth, seem to get them working, within steam's big picture controller emulation, fairly well. With the exception to 1 issue, the damn C stick has an intense drift heading south.

Specifics on what I've done.

I attempted to

• Calibrate them through windows device manager settings, multiple times.
  
• Calibrate them through steams big picture mode setup.
  
• Disconnect it, and removed from my saved Bluetooth profiles.
  
• Restart all devices including my computer(actually doing that just as I restart my computer).
  
• Reinstall steam beta versions.

I've tested it using dolphin, as that takes direct input, and it shows the damn C stick leaning North; The opposite direction.

The only work-around I've thought of that works is, increasing the dead-zone on the stick to a high amount to be outside the leaning area. (This causes an unruly large dead zone.)

As a reminder, this is all just an attempt to getting this controller to work for couch coop needs, and failed to get anything close to playable. Games like smash would be smash-attacking in that direction on accident frequently. Camera control in any game moves at light speed in one direction, and snail speed in the other.

I can't think of a better work-around or fix for this issue, anybody tried this before?

Chances are, you are just attempting to use them for something they werent designed for.

If they work perfectly with a console but only run into issues when used with a PC then its likely a compatibility problem.

If possible, try the controller on a different PC or laptop and see if you have the same issue, if so then you'll know its down to compatibility and not a direct problem with the controller, PowerA is a licensed and known company after all.

Besides getting a different controller, not sure what else you could try on the PC side

Well I got my controller to connect following your advice. Of course now I'm on to Phase 2: This problem.

If you can, increase the dead zone for the X and Y rotation sticks.

Mine's a different model than in the video, but i'll give it a try though thanks.

My gut tells me that it won't help though, considering it's an issue only when using it on pc, working perfect on switch. But I'll post results.

oh wow. good input bro, really helpful.

So If you read the post you'd see that I got this controller as a gift, and I can imagine some younger players might be in that scenario. So as a problem solver I actually tried to see how it worked on pc, and decided to post my issues and findings online to HELP people.

I have like 6 different types of controllers, and all types of players have preferences, personally I play nearly everything with an xbox controller as well. But some people can't for whatever reason, that doesn't mean they should be completely out at sea without any support.

So just because people don't do things your way, doesn't mean it's wrong. So maybe if you don't have anything helpful to say, don't post dude nothing is compelling you to do so.

I know I'm a couple years late replying to this, but I just tested it out and it worked. Like, I didn't get ANY drift at all after I followed the instructions in the video with my PowerA Wireless GameCube Pro Controller.
