That could be caused by pretty much anything relating to the sound card. That's not the headphones' fault, clearly, if it works fine on PS4.
Yeah, pretty often the on-board audio is low quality, even on enthusiast level boards like Intel Z370 and AMD X470. Most recent smartphones have far better sound cards in them. Between the built-in Realtek audio on my X470 board and my Samsung A8, the difference is night and day
its like a little control box that turns your jacks into USB, has volume up and down
if your already using it try turning off the 7.1 surround sound if you have it on
if that doesnt work update your usb drivers and your cpu chipset and see if that works
