They're overall just terrible. Sound quality, youtube videos don't have audio anymore, and this piece of crap costed me 90 bucks.

i got the hyperx cloud stingers and they sound pretty bad too
but my friend has the exact same pair and it sounds better?

Sounds like you got a bad model. Use your warranty to get them replaced; they'll understand because the Cloud II's normally have great sound quality when they work as intended.

The thing is, though- my brother's set also acted strangely. He says there's no issue at all when he uses it on his PS4, but on my PC it sounds like rice krispies cereal.

That could be caused by pretty much anything relating to the sound card. That's not the headphones' fault, clearly, if it works fine on PS4.

Yeah, pretty often the on-board audio is low quality, even on enthusiast level boards like Intel Z370 and AMD X470. Most recent smartphones have far better sound cards in them. Between the built-in Realtek audio on my X470 board and my Samsung A8, the difference is night and day

Toss that toy and buy a real pair of headphones.

So do I have to buy a soundcard? Or did it come with one that I have no idea how to enable?

yeah the cloud IIs comes with a sound card
its like a little control box that turns your jacks into USB, has volume up and down
if your already using it try turning off the 7.1 surround sound if you have it on

Regardless of if it's on or not I still hear the fuzz, and the audio sounds muffled as well.

maybe its a problem with the usb port? try a differnet usb port
if that doesnt work update your usb drivers and your cpu chipset and see if that works

My Cloud IIs sound perfect. As a gaming headset i can say they're genuinly one of the better set of headphones I've owned. Much better that some of the proper headphones I've used in the past.
