Psu for rx 580
How much wattage would be needed for a sapphire rx 580 8gb. I've got an EVGA 500w bronze and I don't really want to change it as I got it like 2-3 months ago. Also I don't overclock

Rest of system at current time:
Ryzen 5 1600x
8gb 2133mhz (getting 16gb 3000mhz soon)
Ab350m mobo
Evga 500w bronze
1tb terrible hard drive
Evga GTX 1050ti

I wouid assume your power draw to be below 300W. Nothing to worry about.
Just be more specific about that PSU model. Forums like to talk about that a lot. :steammocking:

Yeah, wattage is fine. But the BR psus are pretty trash units. The insides of it are made either by company called HEC or Andyson. Both of which are low end PSU OEMs.
Their overheat protection triggers at 30 Celsius and thus can easily overheat if you add too much load on it.
The fan isn't too reliable on them either.

Depends on which bronze unit it is, evga have good and bad ones, though to be honest, you should be fine either way.

Which ones would you recommend for around 40-55?

I'm thinking about the corsair CX550M 550 W 80+ Bronze. It's semi modular, 50 more watts and I think corsair makes some pretty good psus?

Keep your existing PSU.

Can I ask why?

don't upgrade from one bronze power supply to another. it's a lateral move.

either keep what you have or upgrade to a more expensive gold power supply.

How about a corsair TX550M 80+ gold?

if you do decide to upgrade, i would go up to 850 watts. it's more than what you need, but it will be quieter and you can do crossfire if you ever want to add a 2nd 580.

I'm not really bothered about noise or crossfire tbh this is my first pc so I don't mind if there are flaws. As long as i get 1080p high 60fps+ with decent temps. I just wanted to know if my psu is good for a 580 cause I don't want nothing to break as I have wasted a lot of money already on parts that didn't fit. (I didn't research)

Visit:
https://outervision.com/power-supply-calculator and put in your specs.

hwcompare.com says RX-580 uses 185W of power and your current 1050 TI uses 75W.
