2 gaming PCs tripping circuit breakers in home. Power consumption issue, or bad breakers?

Has anyone else experienced this? Power to only 2 rooms in the whole house go out constantly, ever since the PCs were built, and an occasional console on top of that. Ive also heard it could be an issue with the breakers themselfves.

My PC should only draw a maximum of 800 watts, and the other around 600 watts max. Not sure about the console

yep. they wired those two rooms on the same circuit breaker and your pushing the limit, especially if you have a electric heater in there too.

got to lower the load on the circuit

May have to call an electrician to do a load test - if they are good may need to run a new circuit to that room or rooms and use those for the PCs only

I always have issues with my computer tripping the breaker... It almost always trips the breaker right as soon as I hit the power button when I don't use my PC for an extended period of time. One time my PC literally tripped the breaker when I was in the middle of a game... Yeah, it's annoying. Very annoying considering my PC draws out a lot of wattage considering I heavy overclocked everything on my PC.

A typical breaker is set to trip from 12 - 20 amps and an 800w PSU can pull 10 amps by itself. So having 2 gaming PCs plus other electronics on a single circuit can easily cause a breaker to trip. You may be able to solve the problem by putting a larger breaker on the circuit (which I would suggest calling an electrician to accomplish).

You have an issue with your breaker if 1 PC is flipping it, no matter how far you have it overclocked.

OP you are simple drawing too much power for a 15amp breaker. Move a PC to another circuit.

like others have said, it's likely both rooms are on the same breaker.

let's assume it's 15 amps. 15 amps x 120 volts = 1800 watts. but for continuous usage, you'd be looking at 80 percent of that, which is 1440 watts.

i would recommend getting a meter to check everything that's plugged into the outlets.

see how many watts you're pulling from the wall during gaming. that will give you an idea of what else can be plugged in.

include any lighting into your total. led bulbs use the least amount of energy so switch to those if you haven't already.
