I Can’t Enter My BIOS!

It loads to fast and I spammed “DEL” and nothing happens.

I have a MSI Arsenal Gaming Motherboard.

Any suggestions?

you prob have fast boot enabled,
hold shift while rebooting ( on windows 10 ) the advanced boot options should pop-up, from there you can boot into the uefi firmware ( bios )

I did that, but I don’t see UEFI Firmware Option.

Turn off PC, flip the power switch on your PSU off, leave it for a minute then flip it back on. Should allow you to access BIOS when you start up your PC, that's what I have to do anyway.

^ try F11... this works in my nephew's MSI B450M Pro but DEL did not

other way to enter BIOS from OS:
You can access BIOS by Windows 10 option:
Click the lower left windows logo → Settings → Update & security → Recovery → Advanced startup and Restart now → Troubleshoot → Advanced options → UEFI Firmware Settings → Restart

I have the same problem and it's only occurred since the cumulative update for windows 10 version 1809 downloaded. It seems windows has bugged something in the start up process. Mine starts up and goes straight to windows.

Do you have a dual monitor setup. If so your BIOS could be using the monitor you don't have turned on. My BIOS uses my 2nd monitor that is plugged into DVI instead of my primary WIndows monitor that is plugged into Display Port. If the monitor is not turned on I will not see the BIOS screen.

Lol. That’s funny, it’s funny because it’s happend to many of us. On another note for people having this issue without two monitors, you’ll have to get into uefi and change the boot cycle it’s probably set to windows 10 UEFI which means on motherboards with z170 chipset no legacy hardware will work until windows starts. In the bios select windows7 boot, then all your legacy hardware will work at POST. This is stated in all manuals

Even without another monitor, still can’t get access into UEFI.

Take out your HDD with your OS. Fastboot skips some redundant checks I find (I think it keeps components of windows Cached) And it still can take a long time to boot unless you really trim the fat on they system

Although with my Uefi, I can use it for various settings I wouldn't have access to if it was off. It's sketchy when you Dual boot Windows doesn't like shutingdown properly. So you have to kill the power properly and do full reset anyways because I don't trust windows after a restart into anouther OS.

Try reset your Cmos, Good idea. Or use a SOIP 8 programmer, or a bread board with Raspi if your have a removable chip like a do. Flash it with a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ one from your OEM and back up your old one.

I will not buy a board where I can't access the bios. For longevity sake. If bios breaks board will be broke. So you need to be able to flash it. The USB flash is a convienience thing, but requires a working bios yes.

My laptop is F12 and desktop is Delete. Fastboot may be disabling your USB devices for faster boot btw.

And hit the powerbutton a few times with it unplugger to clear out static. Maybe remove the Cmos battery. This could help.

If you can get to windows this is good, but you can't boot to other media without the bios. So maybe try unplugging the OS drive. However make sure you plug back in same order. Please be careful though I don't wanna be responsible for your OS not booting after, and you not accessing bios so don't resort to that if you don't have to.
