Asus PG 278QR 27" 1440P 165 HZ GSync goes for $600. Also 1200 Watts for the PSU is overkill. PSUs have there best efficiency at 50% load. I would defintelly go 650W to 750W.
Personally i wouldn't bother with anything less than a 1440p monitor if you're going with a 1080 ti gpu.
Why are you getting a GTX 1080ti if you only want to display a 1080p resolution. Especially if its 60 Hz . It can only display 60 FPS. Just a suggestion however.
EDIT:I didn't read that you got it as a gift. But if your getting a 1080ti at least get a 144hz panel. Downgrade to a 1070ti and get a 144hz? Also you can get a W10 Pro key for like $12 online so you don't really need to pay the $100+ for it.
Look at dropping to a 1060 6gb or preferably a 1070 if you plan on gaming at 1080p & put the extra cash towards a better monitor.
You won't need 32GB of RAM, the pro nvme is a huge waste of money over the evo unless you use it as a scrub drive for serious editing.
There is no need for windows 10 Pro over home for 99.99% of users and a psu that costs over 300 bucks is a really strange gift lol.
By dropping down to 16GB if ram, swapping out the 1TB 970 Pro nvme for an 1TB 860 evo sata3 (the speed difference isn't really noticeable for the price) and swapping the 2700x for a 2700 and overclocking it yourself, you should easily free up a bunch of the funds for a much better monitor.
it not even draws 400W.
You should have got a 250GB M.2 for the OS because loading everything onto one SSD will reduce system performance a tiny bit because the drive will always be in heavier usage. Get a 1 TB SATA SSD from Samsung as you don't need an M.2 as game storage either.
That PSU is way too high for a single GPU configuration, it's better used on builds that use CFX/SLI. While it's not going to make a big difference, you actually have less power efficiency the farther away your power usage is from 50% load on the PSU. Also not cost efficient at all.
There's a lot of overkill in some areas, so you'd be wasting money, dude. Had you done more research, you would have had a better budget for a good monitor, a better quality headset, and G.Skill FlareX memory which is optimized for Ryzen. (The RAM you're using is not optimized for Ryzen which in an overkill rig is kind of important)
