i7 990x bottleneck GPU

I have an old cpu, i7 extreme 990x. I was wondering what GPU would go great with it without bottlenecking? The bottleneck calculator says the Titan X Black would be good.

and before you say it, I know I should upgrade my whole PC but I can't afford it right now. I have enough for a good GPU.

i7 990X is about equal to Ryzen 3 1200, so GTX 1060/RX 580 is max. Technically GTX 1070 is also fine thanks to 6 cores of it.

Something like a GTX 1060 6gb or RX 580 8gb would run just fine next to this chip.

I have a friend who is borrowing some hardware of mine and she is running my old 390x (similar to the 1060) next to a overclocked i7 980x and it does fine in most games. The main issue with that machine is that it only has 8gb of RAM which hurts it's performance in some games, if it had 16gb it would probably do very well in the majority of games still.

As saph said yea a 1060/RX 580 is the max you wanna go but if you wanna get something older and cheaper with similar performance grab a 780 Ti or 980/Ti
