seeking a quieter pc gaming controller

My wife suffers from misophonia where certain sounds drive her insane, which unfortunately include the clicking on controllers. Does anyone know of a quiet PC gaming controller that functions well?

I used to use the MS Xbox 360 wireless. Specifically, she's more triggered by a squeaky analog stick.

Xbox One S controller might be a tad bit quieter, but I doubt it's quiet enough. Steam Controller uses touchpad-like surfaces so it wouldn't have joystick noice.

But the shoulder, trigger and ABXY still are the same as on XBO controller.

First thing to try would be a shot of silicone spray in the stick - try a drop or two on the outside, and if that does not work best disassemble and drop on the stick without the thumb handle where a single drop should do it some justice.

If that does not do it, and if you're handy with a soldering iron, get a replacement stick[www.amazon.com] and replace it (good disassembly guide for above too).

Take the controller apart and clean it. Do this every few months and it'll keep working like new if you take care of it. Spray the sticks where they have the metal shroud, with silicon spray oil and work them around in circular pattern for about 90 secs to work in the oil.

Also PS4 dual sense controllers are more silent, have not compared with PS5 controller

I think it's fair to say this issue is no longer an issue when the thread is from 2018. Congrats on getting another necro'd thread locked by a Mod to prevent confusion

XBox One and the Elite Series has no squeaking.

the rest is fairly quiet

the x360 were all mush pads, those are quiet
but the dpad is useless

Oh yes, the D-Pad actually makes this loud ticking/clicking sound, I never noticed this before...
