P.S.: there are some special free licenses for college students. If you're on that group, check if your university has an agreement with Microsoft.
> Get it pre-installed with a new device.
> Download it from MS, install it, click skip when asked for a key and use it un-activated. It only needs to be activated to use Microsoft Store Apps & Games.
Only for Microsoft Store! The rest of the OS is free to use 100%
Unless it comes with a computer, OEM is not legal for Windows 10. https://devicepartner.microsoft.com/en-us/communications/comm-windows-system-builder-licensing-for-personal-use
OEM is only for New syustem builds.
Using this on an existing PC is illegal.
Hmm, some people believe that using a product without paying for it is theft.
I guess theft is ok where you come from?
The OS is not free, tell me one MS system builder that sells new builds with pirated copies of W10 please.
You don't need it to be activated. That is not pirating the software that's is how microsoft has released windows 10. You can download the Windows media creation tool directly from Microsoft website.
You use it to download and install Windows 10.
You can activate it if you have a license or purchase one.
If you don't activate it you can still use it but with some limitations. The Store being the main burt you also get a small watermark.
It is not illegal!
It is not pirating!
It is just how Microsoft have choosen to provide Windows 10.
You can download it from MICROSOFT for free and install it for free WITHOUT a license.
You can USE it for free without one with few little limitations.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
You just click "Download tool now", have a 8gb or bigger USB stick and make an installation media with the MediaCreationTool you just downloaded.
You then use that to install Windows 10 and it's free to use without a license.
Limitations include:
Microsoft Store disabled
Small watermark at the corner
desktop customization disabled
So its freeware then?
Why charge money for it?
Because it is NOT free and installing and using without paying for a license is theft.
Sad that not only do people think stealing property is ok because MS made access easy to the ISO for legitimate users, but also that the mods are so hopelessly corrupt that they endorse theft and piracy also.
