PhysX isn't a Nvidia only thing. The benefit Nvidia has with PhysX over AMD is that Nvidia is capable of using the GPU for PhysX which can improve performance. #TotallyProprietary
Thanks for your quick response, is there then any reason to update said NVIDIA PhysX?
Even though it will run on the CPU instead of the GPU?
And maybe it sounds weird (I'm not that experienced about/with Hardware/software) might it be better to uninstall this old version and reinstall the game (in this case Dead By Daylight) and let it install the latest version on its own?
Thanks for your response!
You'll use the PhysX runtime, if the game doesn't have Nvidia PhysX exclusive effects, but each game that uses the runtime will install it as needed. No manual install necessary.
For example : Havoc.
Yeah, hardware GPU/PPU accelerated PhysX is basically dead, but support still exists and any developer can implement it, if they wish.
The driver for PhysX would do nothing with an AMD GPU. However, the PhysX runtime, which is the software implementation of PhysX with CPU calculations, will be installed anyways when installing any game that uses it.
Havok isn't dead...
