What CPU should I pair with a GTX 980 Ti for Modern Gaming such as "AAA" Titles?

depends on what motherboard you intend to use? if you want modern i would say either an AMD ryzen 5 1600 or Intel i5 8600k should be sufficient for that GPU

In case you go new cpu ^ but if you do have or can get a cheap i7 3770 that's good to.

How much should I pick up the i7 3770? I already have a motherboard for it.
around $100 USD seems about the going rate so anything under that is good

Ya about $100ish ^.

As far as DDR3 ram do you have that too and at least 16GB since you're taking modern AAA games.

As for the i7 3770 would it able to run at stock settings or OCed only, with GTX 980Ti?

unless you get a 3770k with a Z series chipset motherboard z68 or z77 you can't overclock.

Is it worth the Overclock, or mind as well get something newer?

You say you already have the Motherboard for such as CPU as i7-3770?
What is the brand + model of your Motherboard?
upcoast Sep 16, 2018 @ 10:02am
Ya you might want to confirm the mobo will overclock the 3770k before you get too much in a froth.

I'll say it again not getting 16GB into your gaming pc is just a bad idea for now and upcoming 2018/19 games.
