Logitech G510 gaming keyboard, is it waterproof?
Does anyone have one of these?

I just came from the Logitech website which has turned into a big pile of useless suck since the last time was there. I'm looking for specs on the "G510" not the "G510s" but can't find them anywhere.

The keyboard needs a serious cleaning and I need to know whether or not it is waterproof. I'd like to just hose it off in the kitchen sink if possible. I can't remember if it is ok to do that or not.

I had one and was pretty sure it wasn't 'waterproof' by any chance. However it should handle a non-dripping wet towel well enough.

Dont have food/drink near KB, simple as that.

This for sure. Still as time passes dust accumulation along the tiny cracks and onto the bottom panel is unavoidable. That thorough cleaning is gonna happen sooner or later with any keyboard.

Just keep the KB & Mouse clean; how hard is that?

You mean keeping food and drink stain away is easy. Dust? Not so much in most normal home/office environments.

I just keep a clean hand-towel laying around, put over my KB & Mouse when I spend lengthy periods away from Home and/or my PCs. That and keep an un-used paint brush laying around too, for wiping off my KB and table-top. Sometimes I'm drenched in sweat when playing lengthy periods, still never had to take no KB apart just to clean it. If you do, something is seriously wrong, you're a dirty person, you don't wash hands often, you eat around your work/gaming area and let that get on your KB/Mouse... hmm yea.

Taking back a step, I don't believe the condition of TC is so bad like the keys are literally sticking together with dried off soda stain.

A thorough cleaning never hurts. The real issue is when you can't quite put everything back together for whatever reason.

For most folks, they just shouldn't "need" to take it apart.
Take care of it, keep it clean. And if need be flip it upside down and shake it a bit.
Then if need to mess with it further, a vacuum cleaner w/ brush attachment should help with cleaning up any smaller mess, such as dust, crumbs... going over the Keyboard, etc.

Taking the KB apart is more of a last resort than anything.
But yea if you get any spilled drink or other liquid over-top of it, disconnect the KB as soon as possible. Then take it apart and ensure it gets wiped down with warm water (to clean up something like a sugary drink, which will make everything sticky/tacky) then dry any wet-ness from the warm water cleanup. If need further cleaning of surfaces, use rubbing alcohol. Then ensure it's dried out fully before plugging it back in again.
