Theoretically yes, but not by much.

historically, not by much, the stores don't want to loose money on the cards after-all, and if they go to low they might as well just return them, beyond that, nvidia tends to be pretty good usually of letting the old cards pretty much run out as they release a new line up.

More importantly, the 1070Ti/1080Ti are still high performance GPUs. It ain't like the whole world will move away from 1080p to 4K overnight.

I usually just sell the last gen for the new gen so each gen you are upgrading for ~300-400.

Nvidia only ever does price drops when amd releases something. Otherwise they'll go for price per performance. If 1170 is around the ballpark of a 1080, then a 1080 might get a couple $ off. Don't expect it suddenly become half the price.

alright boys

They will be priced accordingly most likely. Its not like a 1180 is going to be twice as fast as a 1080. A 1170 will probably have about the performance of a 1080 infact. I imagine a 1080 will be priced near the same, or possibly a little more expensive.

They can actually go up. And unfortunately people do buy them at higher prices, and sometimes think they're saving money.

10 or 20 % if you can find a good deal

The usually go up once production of them stop over time in some cases.

Seems like they keep using GDDR, Vram amount is barely increasing, and considering current gen is barely any cheaper than last gen (performance per dollar), one might think the pricing won't really move at all :/

As usual, one can get good deals on used GPUs once the new gen is out.

I find that's often the case with tech. Especially really desirable stuff. Saitek's Rat Pro mice are still available, but the prices have gone to ~ $400 for a new one. And they've only been out of production for a few months.

Has to be a mistake, or just plain greed.

I assume you mean the "Mad Catz R.A.T.PRO S Gaming"?

I meant the Rat Pro-X+ - the one they made out of magnesium, with the interchangable sensors.

Nearly 200 EUR here (/~300AUD). Holy cow.
Well, unlike GPUs, there's plenty of mice on the market at least.
