Going from air to an aio
I just got my new aio cooler tonight, got it installed, ready to go. The temps are not any better than when I had my air cooler, they are actually all over the place if not worse, I had a noctua cooler and I guess im just suprised the aio is not even keeping the temps the same or even close for that matter... Just some food for thought for anyone else out there looking to go to liquid, Ill be the first to say, it might not be worth it at all lol. Im using a R1700 for my cpu.

I just ran cinebench again with the fans set to extreme and it hit 69c. Ill tightnen them down even more.... its a corsair H100i Pro. The screw wont seem to stop tighting. Yes I used the stock thermal paste.

Do you have the corsair software to change the speeds? Dont grip them down did you use the paste that came with it
Yes I have corsair link and icue.
Do you have the pump on performance mode? And the fans set to a fixed % say 50%
I just set the fans to 50%. Ill see about putting them in performance mode, thanks to you all for jumping in like this to help me out.

Set the pump to performance and the fans until your temps go down
You increase the RPM on the fans to make it cool the liquid better, not the CPU.

Increasing the RPM of the pump will cool the CPU better.
Im looking to see about chaning the percentage on the pump but I cant seem to find it, it stays on quiet mode for some reason.
You need to select a preset. My H110i had two pump presets, quiet and performance. I am assuming it to be the same for your H100i Pro.

I used to have issues with CUE and prefered to use LINK instead. But that was a while ago when CUE was still in alpha/beta.

In link you select the pump and then select one of the presets in the dropdown menu.

Is it possible to set the pump to performance but the fans to quiet? My h100i temps arent so good they normally sit around 70 - 80c with my 7700k running 4.8 ghz at 1.3v (default voltage) while playing a cpu intensive game. I always have the mode on quiet as the stock fans are way to loud. Is it better to get better 120mm fans for the pump so I can run it at performance mode or a nice beefy air cooler. Hit me with some recommendations.

Edit: I cant change my fan speed individually for some reason.

My options are Quiet, Balanced, Extreme, and Zero Rpm, fans 1 and 2 will change when I click one of those options, the pump does nothing. It refuses to change...it stays at quiet. or 1140rpm.

Set the fans to a fixed% and pump to performance mode you just got a dud honestly
which nactua cooler did you have?

240mm rad aio not as good as a dh14
the aio will have more thermal mass (take longer to heat up)
but not as good at keeping it cool
