[solved]can't update bios for ivy bridge support
edit: installing it on windows 7 os

Basicaly i need to update my bios to the latest version, this update adds ivy bridge on my motherboard (h61m-e33 (b3)) to be able to use a new cpu (i5-3470) i've bought, But the update isn't standard format like older ones, which were just "put single file on usb stick and select it in bios to update".

this update is an exe which i have to run from the stick and it says "System will auto reboot after BIOS update". But it doesnt nothing after restarting. It temporarily creates a folder on the stick that has the bios file in it, and so i tried doing it manualy but the bios doesnt recognize it.

any help is apprecciated

Whenever you do a BIOS update, your BIOS settings get reset to default.

Check the load order of the drives in the bios and make the hard disk you installed Windows on the main hard disk to boot from.
hi thx for the answer but i solved it by installing on a windows 7 system
