Steam games wont use dedicated graphics

So my laptop has an integrated Intel HD graphics card, and a dedicated GTX-1060 Max-Q graphics card for gaming. Any game outside steam will automatically use the 1060, but every steam game I own is locked to the Intel card. Does anyone know how to fix this? I've already done everything suggested in both the Intel and Nvidia graphics settings, nothing has worked.
P.S., It wasnt originally like this, only started a few days ago.
A few specs if they help:
Dell Inspiron 7577
(integrated) Intel HD 630
(Dedicated) Nvidia GTX 1060 Max-Q
16 gb ram

have you tried disabling integrated graphics in your bios?

no, not yet. I hate having to go into BIOS to do stuff so I just wanted to see if there was any other solution.

Well once you get used to going into the bios it's pretty easy. Unless the game itsself has a settings to choose GPU's then that is your only option... there are videos on YouTube if you need help.

Bad news, I searched everywhere in my BIOS and I cant find the setting

perhaps you need to plug the laptop at wall socket.

the dfault setting for laptops with both intel gpu and dedicated nvidia/amd gpu is to conserve power when running on batteries (using intel gpu) and when plugged using the dedicated gpu.

there will always be a setting on gpu use. you just did not find it. perhaps posting at laptop maker forum will help you.

or post complete brand/model/series of your laptop. maybe someone here in the hardware and OS forum can find the exact settings to change.

While my laptop does have the battery conservation, thats not the issue. I'm almost always plugged in because of it.
another note, I just tried disabling the Intel card in Device Manager, but doing that shut off both of them for whatever reason
And another thing, I did find one game on steam that wasnt using it, which was pubg. Its kinda ironic that as of right now pubg runs better that terraria lol

Nvidia uses Optimus technology. All of the video passes through the Intel iGPU for your display. Optimus decides when the Nvidia card should be used and when the iGPU should be used. If you disable the Intel iPGU, you can't display anything.
